My two favorite words are portage and panties. You can do one without the other if you are cunning. Neither are particularly difficult but...
I also enjoy praxis, which we could use a little more of round these parts. - 1970vintage

Amazing Steve Bernier had a 12 season, 6 team, 637 game career. He was a monster in the QMJHL but his NHL numbers were pedestrian at best. Weird.
Edit: I didn't realize he was drafted 16th overall. |

wow RIP.
I'd be more worried about Pelosi than Trump lol...
It's not like Trump can walk in the missile chamber with a key and the codes and fire a nuke...it's a process that requires dozens if not hundreds of people making decisions at the same time. No one person can do it not even the President. But holy sh!t imagine the memes of Trump in a missile silo...
- LordHumungous
Unfortunately, your assumption is wrong...
"Authorization of a nuclear or strategic attack: Only the president can direct the use of nuclear weapons by U.S. armed forces, through plans like OPLAN 8010-12. The president has unilateral authority as commander-in-chief to order that nuclear weapons be used for any reason at any time."

I saw him at the Big O. I've actually got a picture of him coming up to me in one of our old family albums. Nice that the Habs adopted him, but he was way funnier at the ball park with more space to roam and more time between innings to entertain. |

You were talking about goalies. Cory Crawford taking an leave of absence from NJ for personal family matter.
Carolina have put Bilibeau on waivers and released Scott Darling (FLA )who was on PTO |

Final decision maybe but it's a massive panel of people that decide...not one person. No way that's possible or we would have had missile attacks already. and nukes flyaing all around the planet lol
If you think that Trump can just walk into a missile silo, code up the nukes and fire on his own that is the wrong assumption my man.
Sure you could argue the 'authorization' falls on one person but it's a massive process and panel of people before that exploring every possible scenario.
Love the winky face?

It’s a very interesting subject I didn’t know much about. But the more I read the more I realize that it’s not a “massive panel” that decides. A panel of people can advise the president but it’s his/her call alone and once approved there is not much can be done other than a treasonous act to defy the order. Check this link out if you are interested...

It's the president's sole decision, but it needs to be justified:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42065714
Basically people can say "no" to him if it's illegal. It's not like the Football opens and you Google Maps in a target and hit GO. Other people actually launch it, and it has to go through a chain of people who pass along the info. |

Good article! There was three questions in the article:
1. Is anyone allowed to say "no" to the president if he orders a nuclear strike?
2. Is there anyone, at any of those stages, who'd be allowed to say "no" to the president?
3. What would make a nuclear order unlawful?
The answer that I read was that the President has the legal authority to order the strike against any advice he/she receives. The President would still need to persuade the military to carry that order out and anyone in the chain of events can say "no" if it is an illegal launch but who has that kind of knowledge to judge if it's illegal or not?
Bottom line, no wonder the US President is considered the most powerful person in the world.

Yup.
The National Hockey League announced today that six Dallas Stars players and two staff members have recently confirmed positive tests for the COVID-19 virus. Those individuals are self-isolating and following CDC and League protocols. As a result of the positive tests, and as an appropriate precaution, the team’s training facilities have been closed, effective immediately, and will remain closed for several days while further daily testing and contact tracing is conducted. The League is in the process of reviewing and revising the Stars’ regular season schedule with the expectation that the team will not open its 2020-21 season earlier than Tuesday, January 19 |

If it was left up to one person Trump would have obliterated North Korea and Iran in his first year of office. Again...it's a process. Sure the sole decision may finally pass through one individual but it's a large panel of advisers, military, aids and such that weigh in on the process. It's not like Trump can just wake up one morning and decide to fire a nuke at Syria on his own lol.
But much like JB we need to 'trust the process' as we are in for some great Canucks Hockey this year. Trust JB...

As mentioned earlier, it was probably retaliation more than need. But you're right, the matching was definitely unnecessary. Oh well, the follies of GMMG. |
