They are usually good deals. I think I read that it is the currency and the cost of labour.
Most of the wines I have tried from there are "good". They aren't outstanding or unique. The best description I have read is "everyday" wines. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it agrees with my own experience. I do find that inexpensive wines from there really need to breathe or be put in a decanter even. I am not a huge wine knowledge guy though. - Aetherial
Both from high elevation regions. This no pesticides. To each their own.. Everyone has different tastes. Spain is another. |

Top-4 defender and a promising young 2nd line level player is pretty good. Especially because Laine isn't signed long term, but they would have Pesce and a cheaper Necas for a long time. - AdamFrench
I don't mind that deal for Winnipeg. |

What do the actuaries say this would add up to in terms of post-retirement income?
The greatest theft that has occurred over the past generation has been the downgrading and elimination of pensions. Defined benefit pensions were converted to defined contribution pensions (workers were told that it "gave them more control over their finances - the most horrid lie ever told to workers), and defined contribution plans were simply eliminated. - Atomic Wedgie
This is absolutely true. |

I've had some decent ones. Like a 75% Monastrell 15% Gamay 10% Merlot from Yecla was really nice. I just find a lot of them are really confused tasting. |

Yeah I thought it to be a really great idea. In no way, shape or form the be all end all, but a damn good idea. - RickJames77
Agree - with the cost housing in major centres going through the roof, young folks are going to have to get as much passive income as possible to manage. This is a start.

Somebody (99% sure it was Bixi) told me that since South American wines are grown at high altitudes, they don't use pesticides.
I have no idea if it is true or not, but I use it as justification when I buy the cheap ones at the LCBO. |

What do they predict it would end up as?
I did a quick look, birth to age 65 (780 months), at 6% APR compounded monthly. It came out to 97849.
That does not seems like it is going to be a lot 65 years from now.

When I was hired in '96, I had Defined Benefit @ 80% of my 3 year max average salary, then it was converted to 65%, then 55%, and last year it was frozen, and I am starting a new Defined Contribution from scratch. My retirement went from comfortable to eating catfood in 5 years. |

They didn’t have time to get into the specifics. It’s definitely not enough, but it’s better than nothing like so many have when they reach retirement. Especially, when you consider that new borns today will most likely not have social security. |
