How is their market cap worth as much as the other major car companies combined? That makes no sense. What are they going to do as the other companies really get into electric vehicles and offer competition? Why would they design a truck that looks like something a lot of the truck buying public wouldn't buy?

I was in a Tesla and it was awesome and I would like one, but wtf...and Musk says a lot of flat-out stupid poop. A lot of it is cult of personality, it doesn't inspire confidence.

No word yet on how Sunday practice/scrimmage will be impacted.
Important to clarify that this does NOT mean anybody has tested positive for COVID-19.

Projected growth, brand recognition. No other major car company owner is an engineer designing a spaceship to put man on Mars, or tackling other engineering problems around the world. Tesla is building charging stations and will charge other companies to use them when they finally catch up and build electric vehicles. Musk gave Tesla a 10% chance of surviving early on, but they persevered. He has a very solid track record.

A lot of doctors are outdated...and the education they get is scary. They have one class in 7 years on concussions...ONE. And that's a class not a course.

Surly and hopefully the curriculum will change at some point with the surge in emphasis on concussions. You'd hope.

Our healthcare system has caused many to be desensitized as well...with so many people going in for crap.

You're guess is as good as mine. Tesla added about 60 billion to their market cap on Friday. That is the entire value of GM.

The stock rises on hype. They think Musk can create the largest clean energy, battery, space company in the world. There are still so many things Musk could do to artificially increase the stock price based on hype that I would never even dream of going short. (He could sell Spacex to Tesla and the price would probably go up 25% in a day)

Fun fact - Musk tweeted "use signal" Thursday morning (apparently signal is a messaging app that competes with whatsapp) That same day, a completely unrelated company Signal Advance inc. (SIGL) went from 0.6 to 3.7. It kept increasing to $10 on Friday before going back down to like $7.

All because Elon Musk said "use signal". Never bet against this man, regardless of how stupid the money following him is.

I'm incredibly hopeful that this new mRNA approach will be a blueprint to vaccinate against a whole host of severe diseases we're currently facing (e.g. cancers, influenza, etc.). It would be an incredible silver-lining to a devastating pandemic -- and a potential bulwark against future pandemics (which are absolutely on the horizon).

Having said that, if given the choice - at this time - between the mRNA vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna vs. the Oxford-AstraZeneca approach, I find myself leaning towards the latter.

Also per the former, my wife is immunocompromised and is on a biologic to help treat severe chronic psoriasis. I'm very curious to know what her doctors will suggest in terms of the mRNA and (traditional) DNA vaccine approach while on her biologic treatment.
