- Santo_44

100gs.
A winger signed 2 years ago, no pandemic
Not a number 1 center.

- Fakepartofme

Yes, 100gs which means factually incorrect what was said. He's not 7.5

A winger who also didn't drop in pts and has scored 30 goals and multiple Times over 20 goals.

Heard they wanted 6 years, but would've costed ~1.5M more per.
Guess they couldn't find it...

- 21peter

If true ...the Isles are idiots. Barzal at 6 x 8.5 would have been gold. He's elite.

I'd imagine he was 6 x 9 or even 10. Similar to Rantanen's numbers and rumour was that Tkachuk wanted 6 x 9'ish too before he forced the bridge at 3 x 7.

Make ZERO mistake these 2/3 year deals are to the players advantage. They and their agents are happy. Sure they'd be happier with 6 x 11 like Marner but now they walk themselves in contractual empowerment.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Point, Tkachuk, Barzal when their 3 year deals come up. They'll have ALL the leverage with just one year left to UFA.

These 2/3 year deals just give GMs more cap space short term to keep their jobs....Its not good for the team. The average GM tenure is 5 years...more cap space in the short term gives them more flexibility to make themselves look better now.

And I don't care either, I was just saying that Barzal at 7 is better than Willie at 7.5 or Marner at almost 11.

And who plays with superstars.
I like willie, but barzal is a beast. Put Barzal on matthews or JTs wing and hed rack up crazy pts as well.
But he doesnt have that in nyi. They also play a less offensive system than the leafs.
