Big Ben is never outta the fight, it’s not over until it’s over.
As the Navy Seals say, keep pushing forward, never quit, you’re never out of the fight, you’ll be fine. - Pacificgem
He hates "rothlischild" as he calls him.

Not sure what the legal move is as there is no transfer agreement. So if Podz is willing to burn his KHL bridges he should hop on a jet to Van. Its one thing for SKA to want a player to stay. Its another thing to mess with his career.
I've see enough of Podz play that he would be playing in Canucks top 9 from the get go on this roster. No problem to fit Rous and Motte in 4th line roles. - NuckUp
From NHL.com:
The National Hockey League (NHL) and Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding that regulates player transitions between the two leagues. The agreement respects the professional contracts of players from both leagues and obliges both sides to complete a range of procedures to avoid conflicts in the process of players moving from one league to the other.
Since he's under contract, the Canucks/NHL wouldn't touch him. It'd bring up a lot of poop. He'd have to get out of his contract to come over. |

KHL hurting for money, they should sign a player transfer agreement. Vaguely remember reading once that the SHL shares the money and each team gets about 600K every year from it. OR maybe it was total 600K for the league. I'll google it. Or 600K per transfer.
Edit: The 600K i'm thinking of is the development free for a free transfer of a youth player in soccer.
According to a 2015 article it says the NHL plays 240K per player, no matter whether they are under contract or not. That money is then divided between whomever in Sweden. in 2015 the SHL got 10M USD from it.
Still don't know why Russia wouldn't do that. |

Yeah the MOU is why he stayed so far but it doesn't prevent him leaving now under these circumstances. Might be worth the fight since they are playing dirty sitting him. |

He's under the same circumstances, which are that he is under contract. It's not really a dispute lol. That's what was preventing him from leaving before, and it's what is preventing him now. Don't know what you think has changed. |

Maybe post-Covid they will? But who knows. They want to be a top league in the world – if they sign an agreement saying the NHL can buy out their players, that sort of hurts that big Russian ego. |

They put in a hard cap starting this season of 12M USD. The players are leaving Russia anyways, not sure why they wouldn't want some money from it. They could use some of that money to offer more to other players and maybe keep one out of two youngsters.
Been reading about the league's lately and the SHL might be a better quality league now. |

Just a thought, maybe he's sitting because he's being quarantined by SKA due to his return from a tournament in North America where multiple players tested positive. Ya know, to protect their existing roster. |

Ya, don't see why they wouldn't, especially as more Russians leave the league. I'm sure the owners wouldn't mind more money coming in, especially after Covid. |

Contract wise yes that's obvious. The circumstances are the reports he's being benched to pressure him into resigning. |

Another possibility is that SKA Neva (VHL team) is currently sitting outside a playoff spot with 14 games remaining. Maybe they want Podkolzin down there to help them out and don't need him in the KHL squad regularly.
Who knows.
I'd rather him play 18 minutes a game in the VHL than 10 minutes a game in the KHL. VHL is a little bit better than the NCAA in terms of quality and slightly less than the AHL. |
