Takeaways from #Canucks evening scrimmage #2:
*good night for the goalies. Holtby slighty better than Demko on the night
*thought Jordie Benn had a solid night in the battle for blueline depth
*Roussel was motoring again as he has all camp
*Bailey had a strong night. Guy can fly

It will be important to have depth this year, though most of our depth seems like bottom 6. Still, nice that they're young and chomping at the bit. Can start that slow turnover.

Funny to think first game is in 3 days! Should be piling guys on to waivers real soon

Lots of scraps today.

Chris Johnston
@reporterchris
There's a massive group of players on the NHL waiver wire today, including Louis Domingue (CGY), Adam Cracknell (EDM) and Seth Griffith (EDM), Noah Juulsen (MTL), Alex Belzile (MTL), Charlie Lindgren (MTL), Xavier Ouellet (MTL), Jordan Weal (MTL) and Josh Ho-Sang (NYI).

I could see New Jersey interested in one of the goalies an Detroit interested in a few scraps.

Each one of them has to clear waivers to go on our taxi squad if picked up.

I feel like you traded from a good team that will disappoint you to a disappointing team that will also disappoint you.

just messing around...the last team I cheer for that won a Championship was the Seahawks and before that it was 1989 when the A’s won the World Series. I suck at picking sports teams. The Vancouver Canucks are kind of a default situation, in that I am a fan because this is where I grew up

#3 looked like he may have separated a shoulder.
Not sure if that is Rathbone or not.

I read it twice and still don’t see Loui Eriksson on that list?

I don't think Canucks will be picking up a waiver wire player unless it is better than what they have (doubtful)

Among the 2020 2nd contract class only Sean Walker, a 26-year-old undrafted Dman, signed for more than three years.

Are we witnessing the death of the long-term 2nd deal in the flat cap era? And what does that mean for the #Canucks and Elias Pettersson?

I'm kind of disappointed that Van is basically coming back with the same bottom 6 that weren't very solid last season.

Paterson said Roussel was good. I always am underwhelmed with Roussel and somehow satisfied with what he does on the ice. He just does the little things and not much else.

Roussel will be fully healthy.

Still a low number. Teams should use bridge deals.

Unacceptable performance yesterday by Seattle. It's clear there's a disconnect in their system's and coaching. The first thing they need to fix is the offensive line to give Wilson time to throw the ball and open up the run game. Can both O & D coordinators, maybe Schneider & Carroll as well, he was badly outcoached. This team has regressed.

I agree. We don't know what the final roster is yet also.

I think next year there will be more changes also. Pearson has been quiet at camp . Some players like Gauds will be also on a show me year.

Rousell healthy still isn't 3rd line quality.

What kind of step has Motte taken?

Just bugging you

I think outside of a select few cities, most fans go long stretches without their team(s) winning anything.
