Naw. It was Carsonagenic. I just couldn't continue using it after he proclaimed his love of the sausage.

He hates "rothlischild" as he calls him.

Just glad I didn't waste making nacho's for this game

I guess Tryamkin won't be signed this season to not expose him for the expansion draft.

"All unsigned draft picks- Any of the Canucks’ defensive draft choices without a contract will be exempt. ... "Nikita Tryamkin, on the other hand, does have two years of NHL experience, but he still doesn’t have to be protected unless the Canucks decide to sign him between now and the draft."

So we'll see if Canucks get another Shmidt type deal from a team before the TDL who's not making the play-offs but has too many D to protect. Then Canucks expose Myers.

Yes now unless signed like I posted. I'll refer to the quotes from the report for your benefit.

It’s been explained many times.

Teams HAVE to make sure they expose a player that meets certain criteria (games played, not a rookie etc). Seattle can literally take any player that isn’t protected, or exempt (less than 2 years as a pro). If they want to select Edler, who is a pending UFA they can. Or Raffy, or Gaj or Collin White...

what part of unless he signs before E-draft didn't you get.... and no he doesn't have to play 39 games that only qualifies him for the 1 D exposure requirement.

Interesting table from the Athletic (click on it to see it large):

"The players are in tiers, not ranked."

"An email was sent out to 20 or so people in the NHL. The request to this group of coaches, executives and analysts was a little more complex than usual. For starters, it included a color-coded PDF with over 100 players’ names on it. And we weren’t necessarily looking for concrete answers. Just for people within the walls of NHL teams to check our work. It was an audit, really.

We wanted it to be more than just a player ranking or even the less subjective results of a mathematical model. We wanted analytics to have a say as well as those who collect a paycheck doing this for a living for one of the 32 teams.

This was our attempt to meld analytics and the eye test to determine where players rate right now, heading into this season. And thankfully, people in the game were willing to play along."

Canucks end up 5th in the league with 5 players on the list, with Tampa, Toronto, Vegas, and Carolina above them.

If Tryamkin is exempt it would be because he is considered a “first or second year” NHL player. Though that seems a little funny as he did play in parts of two seasons no?

Anyway, take him, don’t take him, I don’t really care. My point was only that the games played requirement is about the Canucks satisfying the league rules, not about if a player is eligible to be selected. I think the only guy they are not allowed to select is Ferland, because of his injury status.

If Try is signed, he's not exempt, the games played does not count for him. We must expose a minimum number of players who played a minimum number of games. Separate issues.

Got a bit sick in my mouth when I read that. It's bad enough they're heavy favorites to win the CAN division (2.20).

As far as VAN goes I'll temper my expectations again this season.
