Andersen was way better when Mcsavey was around than he was when it was Hutchinson. He strikes me as the guy who needs to feel he's got competition for his job to perform at his peak. Campbell playing well is good for more than just Campbell. 🤷‍♂️

I agree...I’ve been saying for
Almost 2 years now that andersen needs a shorter leash. Unfortunately no one has been able to challenge him till Campbell. I think Campbell challenges this year and make things interesting.


Best case he looks good and leafs sign him to an extension.

Worst case he suck, Campbell thrives (hopefully) and leafs sign him and save a couple million on cap space.

Almost 2 years now that andersen needs a shorter leash. Unfortunately no one has been able to challenge him till Campbell. I think Campbell challenges this year and make things interesting.


Best case he looks good and leafs sign him to an extension.

The team looks like it has depth and defensive responsibility it hasn't come close to having as long as Andersens been between the pipes. He appears to be pretty set up for success.

I'm not sure the leafs can afford him extension wise either way, so I just hope both goalies have a damn good season. Get all we can out of Fred and feel comfier knowing Campbell will still be around. 🤷‍♂️

A good year and he's due for a raise, he's more than likely due for one either way. Colour me of the belief that a properly built team can go deep without a premiere goaltender, and that money being needed more for Hyman and Rielly.
