That pass from Giroux to Hayes was unreal, I like the makeup of that Hayes line. Every player brings something a little different. Our top 9 is stacked. Laughton centering the fourth unit isn’t too shabby either.

Thanks Bill! Very encouraging to see NoPa look as good as he did! He looked fast and in great condition! He had a slick pass across the goal mouth to Lindblom, showing his vision and sweet hands! Overall, both groups looked to be in great shape. I would like to see NAK get some top 6 playing time. I think he has some solid potential.

Bill - thoughts on Morin on wing thus far?

I think Vigneault hit the nail right on the head last night. It's a trial-and-error process. He's done some good things, made some mistakes in trying to do too much at times (whether in the physical game or with the puck), and his conditioning is coming back. Still very much a work in progress.

Vigneault: "For a young man like that to play out of position basically, part of his game is being physical, it is a challenge. It is not easy. You don’t want to run over your teammates. I thought for the most part he did well. I’ve been impressed by him [Wisdom]. His skating ability, his feistiness in one on one battles. We saw a lot of that tonight. I liked what this young man has brought on the ice every time. Obviously very young player. He has come here and worked extremely hard and is competing."

I don’t think they’ve had this type of forward depth in 10-12 years. Laughton would have to be one of the top 4th liners in the league

Thanks - it'll be interesting to watch his progress as the season moves forward.

Bill-Do you think Morin makes the team as the extra forward, or does he go to the taxi squad?

Not Bill, but I predict Taxi squad for Morin.

I’d think there is zero chance he straight up makes the team. I’m not sure why this is even a question lol

Should have kept him on D imo. Still think he could have carved out a bottom pairing career. Hagg still is terrible.

Morin looked lost to me. Which is to be expected. Raffle- Laughton-NAK looked good. Why on earth would you want to have Morin in the lineup over any of them?

Taxi Squad or Phantoms. Either way, he'll have to clear waivers (and will, because no NHL team will put him directly on their NHL roster).

I think they’ve had line depth like this in 2007-07, 2009-10 and 2011-12.

To the forward depth on the athletic theres an article about it. While having the 8th ranked.top 6 we have the 2nd ranked bottom 6 (behind Colorado). The balancing act had us at 6th best forward group. Fancy stats included. However that included "old stats" imo. Nopa from essentially 2 years ago. Lindblom from half a season. Realistically I would say behind Tampa and Colorado is where I'd place our forwards. And the difference is really their high end players are higher than ours.

For Morin I think his skill is a taxi player but I think playing more games at LW helps him. My personal belief is hes better off starting in the AHL. My assumption is the 13th spot comes down to bunny or frost. Id go bunny. For the same reasoning as id rather see frost get minutes and games. Same goes for Allison and Zamula.

With those 3 settled my taxi picks would be twarynski and sandin. With lacynski potentially being added once healthy. Friedman for D. And lyon.

I like Raffl but I'd rather see Frost on that line as he has more offensive upside - Frost, Laughton and NAK would be a good 3rd line let alone 4th.

Frost and Laughton may even alternate as Couturier and Giroux have on the same line.

I really hope Patrick’s health issues are behind him. He is going to be such a boost to this team. I love the depth. No superstars but a strong unit.

Interesting. Maybe Pouliot gets claimed but I doubt it.

I don’t want them to lose anyone. When do they have to have the taxi squad assignments decided?

No surprises. Does sandin have to go through waivers ?

Appears flyers holding 8 defenseman since friedman is still there. 13 forwards. Bunny frost I believe are both still on elc. So sandin the wild card.
