It's such a strange, unconventional, year, the only thing I'm sure of is Pettersson, Boeser and Quinn Hughes will have huge years.

Van media predicting a bounce back for The Flow. I guess if he sticks with 40-9 all year he will. Green is the wild card here.

I really liked Marky's game last year. Demko should improve but I think people are sleeping on Holtby. I've watched a lot of his games over the years because I enjoy his style. There isn't any drop-off there from Marky. He looks in form from everything I've seen so far from camp.

Holtby struggled the past couple years, that said, he does look good in camp from what I've seen. Goalies are flakes though, all strange (frank)ers, I guess we'll find out when the pucks drop

I really like Holtby . I said all last year I would take Marky at 2 yrs at 4.5 but if he wanted more I would sign Holtby at 2 x 4.5

We have all got to see him a lot because of the last few years with the Caps. I have no doubt in his game. I am with you.

Short year means stick with what works, I think the top 6 will see very little movement aside from Horvats RW, same goes for PP, they'll run the top unit with the same 5 guys all year long

Clarke will have Holtby's game dialed in. If anything Marky will roll back a bit with an entirely new system of coaches, defensive structures, and such. He will help CGY for sure when healthy but that groin issue...yipes...

Fuck that little bag of poop Ferraro. In a 56 game season over 4 months we've got as good of a chance as anyone else.
- Load Management

As I said before, this season is like Playoff hockey with everyone playing each other 2-3 times in a row. We proved that we thrive at that style hockey, where the others proved they buckle.

Why stop there? When Podkolzin comes over and lights the league on fire the Canucks could have two of the top 3 Calder finalists.
- 1970vintage

Podz will qualify for next season and make it 5. Let's get that cart right or in front of the house

Especially if they ride him all season, and for 6m you know they will do just that.

We'll trade Boeser and get a solid young prospect back in the trade who will slide in on Petey's wing. He will be our 6 in a row

Marky won't also be getting 40 shots from the blue line either next year so I think his numbers will drop.

I still think CGY made a big mistake for a 30 year old goalie that has had 3 groin injuries in the last two years. I think Markstrom is a good goalie but not elite.

Which Goalie would you take based on these stats if both are around the same age?

To be fair, what Holtby or any other player did 4-5-6 years ago is irrelevant, professional sports is a what have you done for me yesterday deal. The past three years he's been in decline, according to his numbers. Hopefully a change of scenery will serve him well.

To be fair, it has a lot to do with the team in front of the goalie as well.

The Capitals did, which he was a member of, what does that have to do with his personal numbers? His save percentages have been dropping, they weren't terrible, but they were dropping. Last year wasn't good, but like I said, hopefully he's reinvigorated with a change of scenery!

Absolutely, quality of scoring chances, number of shots faced, defensive structure of the team, etc. that kind of goes without saying to the fans in the know....but thanks captain obvious

I guess so but maybe if I didn't think he was outstanding and one of the main reasons the team won the cup I would agree more.

The entire Caps D has also been on the decline since Trotz and Korn left. Coaching was a big issue over the last couple of years. I'm not really worried from what I see in his game right now in camp.

He was lights out in the playoffs that year, 0.922 save percentage, which is excellent.

Their defence is somewhat like our defence, it's not terrible, but it's not great either. So I'm not sure he'll be better because of it, also, the Canucks consistently gave up the most scoring chances and shots of all the NHL teams last year.

Markstrom was a huge reason for them being a bubble team, I'm hopeful Demmer and Holtby can fill that gap, but I'm not convinced at this point because I'm not a total homer like most on here...shoot me

Holtby could be better than Marky or Marky could be better. It’s 50/50. All this noise about us sucking is complete bs. Goaltending is the most fickle position in sports and I wouldnt be surprised if Markstrom stunk it up in calgary. At least we have two competent tenders if one falters
