Pretty hard to predict how teams match up with each other before they've even played a game.
If i had to guess though, i'd go Tor, Mtl, Edm and Van.

Personally I think it will be 4 of Vancouver, Edmonton, CGY, Toronto, WPG. I also think the team to be left out will be one of CGY or Toronto. Games will get tough when you play the same team 2-3 times in a row and Toronto is a team of choke artists. - Retinalz

super interesting read through.
Benn tested positive, then negative. Miller has been staying with the Benn's in Vancouver. Despite Benn testing positive, then negative, and Miller testing negative but being a close contact, Benn can return quicker than Miller can, as per NHL protocols

I think Cgy has a fair team . Wpg has good goal tending and forwards but a weak D.
I will go Tor Van Cgy Edm Wpg Mtl Ott

Somebody has too. They probably have the 2nd weakest top 6 in the division. |

I think Boeser's comments yesterday were telling about having to be more defensively aware with JV on their line.
Definitely not as strong of a lineup without JTM, hopefully that third line clicks and can win their matchups. - NewYorkNuck
I think Boeser's comments are a reminder/warning to Jake to make the most of the chance he's getting and to not have the Pittsburgh disaster repeat. I hope Jake takes advantage, I am cautiously optimistic we will split the next 4 games and then Miller will take his rightful place on that line.

Chatfield over Bone or Rafferty as the 8th D (7th with Benn out) is interesting too. |

Just play .600 hockey and the Canucks will be fine. win 3 lose 2. Not so hard. |

I agree it's going to be a weird year for sure but staying consistent with a winning pct of 600 will get us 67-68 pts. I think that Petey is going to take over a lot of games this year he just keeps getting better and did really well in the thingy with the tighter checking. I think some of the other teams in the (Canadian division)may not be prepared for the increased playoff like intensity of this season.

My guess would be as an insurance policy if Hamonic is not quite up to game speed.

My daughters are isolating because my wife, then myself have tested positive, I am out of quarantine on the 17th, they have to wait until the 20th, they have no symptoms, which is the provincial guidelines. |

the timelines all make sense. I would have thought Miller would have been available sooner though just given the nature of the testing results. As much as it sucks to not have Miller in the opening night lineup, or for a good chunk of the start of the year, the abundance of caution, and the rules that the BC CDC and NHL have put in place make me happy with how serious they are taking this.

The same thing happened with my sister in law with her boyfriend. She was positive but allowed back out after 10 days without any symptoms, where he tested negative so had to go the full two weeks because there's a chance in that two weeks that he might get it. Where as she got it and then "recovered" |

Looking at the rosters I'm thinking the Canucks are in tough tonight, but it should be a close game. The Oilers centers are head shoulders better than ours with McDavid, Draisaitl & Turris, the wings are kind of a saw-off with Boeser being our best winger and RNH probably being theirs, both are around 50-60 point wingers.
Defence and goaltending definitely goes to the Canucks though. Having Miller out really exposes the lack of depth in the organization. Need Podkolzin sooner than later!! |

Hard to say, I don't see Tanev an upgrade over Brodie, Markstrom will solidify their goaltending, but if he gets a groin injury(highly likely) they will drop.
Their best bet is Tkachuk steps on Scheifeles ankle "accidentally" again and then does the same to Matthews, McDavid and Pettersson. |
