I have to agree . Benning did say the Taxi squad would get to play a lot of games ,yesterday. It will be nice to see Rathbone and Rafferty in game action.

The team needs young guys to step up so we can start moving some old faces out. Perfect year to do it. I never want to see Loui play another NHL game.

They put Loui on the taxi squad, so we may see him some time.

The curse of Craig Button....

Craig Button: "He checked every single box. Back up goaltender for Carey Price, get a deeper blue line..and then up front, get more scoring help. I think the Montreal Canadiens have not only improved their team significantly, I think they're the best team in the North Division."

I don't know what he looks at when he comes up with this poop.

Only Ottawa was worse than them last season. Unless they added an actual point per game forward and an actual top 2 defender, they really didn't move the needle that much.

You can't take away a 44 point player and add a 44 point player and claim that they got more scoring up front.

Hoglander is hooped then, as Button called him a special talent and will be a very nice contributor to the Canucks.

The Hog's gonna get some PP time with Miller out for two weeks, that should help him get to the 35 points I'm predicting

All four centers combined last year scored 30 goals . They may have the weakest center collection in the entire NHL .

Here I thought I was reaching for 31 points if he plays 14 minutes a game and 2nd PP time for the entire 56 games.

I'm just reading a story on the Athletic, didn't know Stamkos was one of only eight 1st overall picks to win the Stanley Cup with the team that drafted them in the past 40 years....WTF?

I think the team goes 3.20 GF and 2.90 GA this year.

Keys are no Fatburger for 36 games.

No Schaller for 51 games.

Skewed stat. Edmonton hasn't won a cup lately, and they account for half of those first overall picks...

even if you discount the past five years, as it's pretty hard to win a cup in your first five years, and say go back to 1980, most of them have been in recent years.

2008 - Stamkos
2007 - Kane
2005 - Crosby
2004 - Ovechkin
2003 - Fluery
1998 - Lecavalier
1988 - Modano
1984 - Lemieux

Definitely hard. Wonder what the average time of them being drafted 1OA to winning the cup was.
