I like the moves he made this off-season, going with speed and skill.
They're my dark horse to surprise in the Canadian Division (as long as they stay healthy).

Only thing that kills them imo is too much invested in goaltending...which is more of a Gillis thing.

TSN’s Mike Johnson, former NHL’er, just picked Montreal as his sleeper pick in the Northern Division to finish third behind Edmonton & Toronto.

That's what I said Perry played well for Dallas in PO's that was it...not how he was gonna transform the Habs...

- LordHumungous

I would gladly take Perry in the playoffs.

According to Jeff Paterson it looks like Lind, Woo, Lockwood, Gadjovich, Teves & Kielly have now been removed from Canucks roster. 33 players remain in camp including the six on waivers today.

So if we go with Carol's numbers:

3 Goalies

10 Dmen

16 Forwards

29 total.

Who else is left to trim?

Edit: Jasek, Hawryluk and Mitch Eliot? and Ferland??

All those young guys need lots of games to develop so better then sitting on Taxi. Lind didn't have the start to camp to show he's ready to step in if needed.

Media is very vocal about sending Loui to Utica. It forces him to think what he wants to do. Sat Shah and Andrew Walker say it is not unrealistic to think that he would not want to go ride a bus in and Hotels in small town NY during a pandemic.

Utica are playing 36 games 14 against Syracuse and 14 against Rochester. Rochester is a dump.

It hasn’t been reported yet whether he’s on the taxi squad or he’s being sent to Utica, I haven’t seen it anyways.

No it hasn't been reported. Media is talking out loud . Wishful thinking but for the first time they are suggesting to send him to NY

Why? I know most people would agree but they made a big choice why not go all the way? I would keep Sven and send Loui down he was not good at camp.

Like I said waivers but...

Hopefully in February there are no huge injuries and JB can send LE to Utica. I'd be surprised Green lets him do it before that but you never know.

Injuries, short full schedule, him being readily available to play. Just my hunch.

I get it , and I think you are right, but Loui was pretty useless last year and is overrated by public opinion.

Give some of the kids like Bailey Michaelis Zack Hawryluk some development time . I would send him down right now to attend training camp in Utica. Why reward the clown . You want to try to make him hate it there.

Eliot was sent down yesterday or the day before. I believe Jasek took his spot on training camp roster, as was mentioned in Carol's blog.

Yes Jasek gets a look before getting sent down. Funny how that Gaudette guy is on the roster and even at 3LC.

So i'm guessing Hawryluk, Jasek and Ferland then are the final cuts, or are we missing someone else?

They still have 16 forwards and 10 defensemen on the roster
