I think they end up #2 ..baring a Leafs implosion
adding Toffoli was good, Anderson should be decent. KK and Suzuki are coming along.
should get decent tendin from price/allen. I just dont see any other team pushing up the ladder - senstroll
I agree, I also think North division is pretty crap in terms of good teams. TOR,CGY, MTL should have no problems being the top 3 teams. |

I agree with the PO stumbles, could argue the rest but who gives a (frank). I think Freddie has been reading all the chatter and has lost his mojo, not expecting a good year. - Garnie
Millions of dollars are riding on this year, will be interesting to see if he can handle the pressure.
he will be a Cane by next year I think. |

The jealous loathing of other parts of Canada is a national embarrassment.
Toronto is the economic engine of Ontario.
Ontario and Alberta subsidize the rest of Canada.
I'm not looking for a thank you, but maybe quit calling us arseholes every chance you get, Maritimes and Quebec? - Atomic Wedgie
From 08 to 18 Ontario was considered a have not province and received transfer payments from the federal government. Most of which came from the oil sands.
In 2018 the feds informed Ontario that they were no longer considered to be a have not province the Ontario government protested and wanted the feds to change the way they did their calculations. |

Anderson will be good I think, he is an underrated player.
Will score 25-30 goals. |

You are underrating Van, Win, and Ed. I think this division will be very tight. |

Toight like Toyger.
Vancouver overachieved last year but they won't drop much because of improvements they've made methinks
Winnipeg will be very good if their D can keep up
Calgary has a goalie now, and if Rasmus Andersson steps up to fill Brodie's shoes then they will be good
Edmonton is make or break on the quality of their goaltending
Ottawa sucks giant donkey balls
Habs can suck the aforementioned donkey balls too

So, only once has he scored over 20 and this year, after 4 last year in 25, he is going to put up 25+... oh, and in only 56 games..
A tad optimistic. |

VAN lost Toffoli, Tanev, Markstrom, Lievo...went from one of the best starters the past 2 seasons to one of the worst...people are underrating how much that will hurt them.
Edmonton was 1 and 2 for their special teams last season...no Klefbom and they will take a step back there. Barrie loses his confidence in game 4 on that D core.
Winnipeg is a bit of a WC but Leaf fans get frustrated at OUR forward top 6 defence, the Pegs top 6 are putrid in their own end, add in the fact that they have the worst D in the division...and that Hellybyuck has been in god mode the past few seasons and its a lot to ask for him to do it again in the condensed schedule...
Yeah those 3 teams aren't very good imo, they will be average teams in the NHL this season and it seems most models have that as well. |

How about looking at the other side of the coin also.
2018 Ontario 3rd in federal contributions per capita
Last in Federal transfers per capita.
Don't even start painting a picture of Ontario somehow not pulling its own weight.

you're wrong with your evaluation of Holtby - he is likely to be a Vezina candidate this season.
In addition -- Hoglander will be good for them (I have him as a Calder winner) and Pettersson will only get better.
Strong goaltending (one of the best tandems in the league) a good defense and two good top2 fw lines -- to me it's between Toronto and Vancouver for the #1 spot in the Scotia NHL® North Division |

Outside of injuries, the only team they could realistically beat is the Jets who are a Helly not being a Vezina winner away from the trash fire.
If Murray is back, they will be a good team or at least interesting. Like when the Leafs first got Anders7n. |

Yikes.
I'm not sure one year on the poop end of that stick gives Ontario the merit to join Alberta in the 40 year whine. 🤣 |
