While I thought the Flyers forecheck and neutral zone play was lacking early, they were good defensively all game. They limited quality chances for the Pens.
One of the most encouraging signs for Patrick was his play down low, especially late. Sealing off players along the boards and winning puck battles in the D zone. - MJL
I couldn’t agree more with the Patrick assessment. He was a bull on the boards late. That is exciting stuff |

It was like the Flyers scored, good stuff - wcorvette
Fighting is not out of the league, it’s just in the league less. Good for him to find away to keep himself in the game and sparking his team. I wish there was room for him on our fourth line. |

Patrick, JVR and Voracek all finished -2 which is hard to do in a 6-3 win. I noticed that their line was not taking a regular shift in the 3rd when they were protecting the lead. Possibly some defensive concerns with that combination. |

Yeah miss that guy. He just back checked, caught up to Weber and decked him with a good hit. Honestly hoping someone for the Flyers would do the same when they play the Habs again. Those 3 take a lot of liberties |

Simmonds also put a huge body on Weber when Weber tried to take the puck himself and drive to the net. |

Their line did take a regular shift in the 3rd period.

Simmonds also seeing a little PP time with Joe Thornton, acting as a double screen. |

I miss Simmonds. Just a good solid tough player. They are tough to find. Those 3 guys did play the Flyers tough in that series. |

Ice time against the Crosby line was pretty evenly doled out between all 4 lines. - MJL
If we can roll 4 lines like that all season it will go a long way towards staying fresh and being able to keep up pressure throughout the game.

I don’t see where I’d put him in this lineup though. |

Good game guys. Blues gave you Farabeeinexchange for Schenn. Farabee looked awesome tonight. Schenn helped the Blues over the hump. Trade well worth it. Thought you guys were done when Hart coughed up that puck. Good job. Congrats to Patrick for getting back to it and hopes he can stay healthy |

I didn’t like their defense early. Otherwise a goal like the Pens goal doesn’t happen. Man wide open for an easy slam dunk. Both defenders on the right side of the ice. |

Not to be negative nelly but where the (frank) was this style last year in playoffs? Everyone going hard to the net playing the right way. I can probably count on one hand how many times that happened in isle series. Are they learning? I hope so |

Not a bad start. Way to begin with the Win! Lots of room for growth, learning from experience and getting back to game speed. Just need to get better every day.
Loved Farabee in his new number, looking good on him. Amazing to see Patrick and Lindblom back! Depth preview didn’t disappoint. Also, best wishes to Ghost and family for a healthy outcome.

Assuming tracing. He wasn't listed on the nhl report that announced 27 positives. |
