Everything to me reeks of at least the presence of PCS. Not migraines alone. It doesn't usually take close to 2 years to find triggers of migraines, especially with millions to spend and millions to lose. We will see I guess. I know we have hashed it out here to exhaustion.
I do also find the uncritical faith of ppl like MJL and you amusing and sweet and telling in this regard of taking Flyers brass at their word, given the far more outlandish disbelief you hombres harbor about other, much more consequential things.
😜 - PT21
MB's assessment of NoPa is not based on "uncritical faith" as you say. He makes a valid point about NoPa's youth and likely ability to return to form given that youth. No one is taking Flyers brass at their word. It's a fully justifiable position.
Further, the exact opposite of "outlandish disbelief about consequential things" is having "outlandish disbelief about nonconsequential things" (ie. like a professional sport). I'd say that having "uncritical faith" in the false narratives and stories regarding consequential things is far worse. And that's the category that a lot of us in here place you in.

I can't wait to see what Patrick can do. I'll be honest after last season I thought he would never play an NHL game again. And somehow I also started to equate him to a middle tier prospect talent wise. Now that he is back to being healthy its exciting. I'm hoping he shows the skills and talent that landed him as the 2nd overall pick, and could easily have been the 1st. There is still a chance he will be a superstar player. - youarewrong
Great teams GAINING cheap high-end talent is how great teams become elite.

1st bold: He also mentioned migraines, and migraines alone, which if you could read, would have been apparent to you.
Regarding 2nd bold, given your staggering track record of non-hockey posts here, forgive me for not paying much attention to whose intellectual company you keep. And btw, its inconsequential, not "nonconsequential".
Regarding 3rd point, we agree.

I expect Patrick to be a man get up and punch the dude in the face. With all his teammates around him going at the guy too. He's on a line with two the bigger guys on the team plus our defense isn't exactly small. |

Laughton, Hagg, or NAK can get scrappy. Dark horse is Jake. Jake has a rage side of him if you remember Him pouncing Scuderi. Also his BFF TK will murder anyone lol |

I am pretty certain N. Patrick will fight his own battles and will learn to. However we do not really have the big tough policeman type. Jake is the guy who will step in for sure but we really do not need a star player scrapping. Something the team needs to address, putting a goon on the taxi squad imo. |

I mean I think TK is just a likeable locker room guy. But he roomed with Patrick during road games and their early days with the team if I remember right. And were initially together on a line. So id say they are one the closer pairs. |

Plenty of guys will fight for anybody on our team, Bobby Hagg went with Wilson last year. Not worried about this in the slightest. I’ve seen G drop the gloves over a cheap hit on Raffl. |

With these teams playing each other 8 times, sheet is bound to happen. Let's hope that NoPa can play on through anything that comes his way. |

They declined yesterday to be more specific than "unfit to play." If it is related to a positive COVID test, his name would show up in the report the NHL will start releasing now that the season is underway (numbers of players overall, per team, and which ones).
But since Gostisbehere is on the 23-man roster and not IR, it's likely that it's not anything that will keep him out an extended time. If he's back for practice tomorrow, he'd probably play Friday. If he doesn't practice tomorrow, I doubt he'll play Friday. - bmeltzer

This may be the most plausible explanation yet. I forgot his gf was a nurse. |

First: I know you like to argue about water that's gone under the bridge long ago. How he got in that position is INconsequential. MB's post was prospective regarding NoPa's probable future. You just like to find arguments where none exist.
Second: point taken on "inconsequential" but interesting how you ignored my assessment. And don't give me any crap about discussing non-hockey issues on here. Classic lack of self awareness on your part.

Exactly. They're going to open the season with the biggest audience they can get. Not knocking the Kings/Ducks, Jets/Sens but they're not big draws on a national scale. |

SSB, I was trying to think of the same thing. It's so infrequent that it's tough to remember specific fights in the past few years. It's a different game now. |
