I wonder how a young star like that is affected by the quality of coach. I don't know much about David Quinn but his overall coaching resume is pedestrian. Not sure what his impact was as an Avs assistant, but as a head coach at Boston U he was 105–69–21 but never won a championship. Two years at NYR he's got them 7th in Metropolitan twice.

Hog's going to be given every opportunity to succeed (minutes and linemates). I wonder what coaching approach will be with AL? if it's slow and steady I wonder if it will hold his skill back?

Perhaps, they don’t exactly have a great track record of developing young players. Kakko and Lias being recent high picks that haven’t worked out. Folks chirp Green constantly (Makita 🤦🏻‍♂️) but he sure seems to get the most out of the kids
