There is no sun in the background, just red and orange stripes. Never liked the Diamondbacks choice of crest. I would have went Grand Canyon or something. |

See, Canucks play better when we talk bad about them. All day long Nuckup has been pumping him for the Calder. - manvanfan
wrong... just a candidate for votes and top 2 drafted rookies will compete for the Calder. But you do you. Hogz had a decent rookie game. Not his fault that the star players were stuck in the mud. |

Special teams and Green's plan on McD lost this one. But a road split without JTM is all good. Rinse and repeat in Calgary. See where things are at back home. |

I did a couple stint stays in AZ all 4 corners from Flagstaff to Yuma. Don't get the attraction when there are so many great island waters in the world. |

Talked the parents when alive to buy in Palm Springs. They used to snowbird to San Diego & talked them outta buying there. Closer to more nice places than desert everywhere. |

Just for clarification, J.T. Miller has *never* come off of the #Canucks 23-man roster.
He's in COVID protocol, but has technically been a healthy scratch for the first two games.
Miller's COVID protocol should lapse in ~6-8 games and you have to be out at least 10 for LTI, so there's no sense in putting him on LTI.
And the #Canucks don't need the extra roster spot because without using LTI, there's not enough cap space to activate another player anyway. |

Who’s worse, Ottawa or Detroit? - Pacificgem
Late response, but Detroit. Definitely Detroit. |

It's one game and we all like to make assumptions after one game but Kaprizov is going to win the calder. Probably just going to be the new Bread man. |

Even if he tested negative every day and was allowed to play he isn’t allowed to join the team because of the travel rules (NHL).
Also BC Poli looking for way to ban travel to BC from Inter provincial. I guess NHL will be exempt. |

I doubt it, there’s really no need. You, well, actually not you, because you have leveled in old age and become much easier to take, and don’t swing wildly from emotional high to low, BUT you (the general you) are already turning on guys after one bad game.
Also, I don’t think they played that bad, or that differently than the previous game. Some mistakes, sure, but McDavid finished his chances and Boeser didn’t.

Every year, the highs & lows of game 1. I agree with Reuby, give the teams 5-6 games to find their legs then we can award the Calder Trophy. |

i don't even think 5-6 games is enough this season to figure out how the season will end.
i'm not just talking about the canucks but i'm waiting until february to see what this and other teams are really all about.
granted with a shortened season, any team can be long gone from playoff contention by then but i honestly see most teams having inconsistent outings in the first month. with the amount of games played so close together and no preseason games, it's going to take a couple weeks (at least) for teams to get into true 'game shape' as well as gel as a team. thus i see a bunch of up and down games for a lot of teams. nothing to get too high or low about in the first month (or really draw concrete conclusions.)
