Can we make a trade for Dubois AND Torts? |

I think he means outside of Barzal they dont have any major star talent.
However they all work hard and play really well together. Kind of like the Rangers of the Torts era. - aecliptic
No I would agree with that. The Isles roster is loaded with 2nd and 3rd liners. They are very deep and extremely well coached. Teams like Toronto loaded with stars have struggled. I would agree that they need a star winger to put alongside Barzal in order to truly be a cup contender |

Outside of Barzal and Eberle, who on your roster ISN’T a hard-nosed, gritty style of player? Don’t let your reading comprehension stand in the way of a good narrative.
Typical... Islanders fan. - Tonybere

This isn’t a knock honestly. Similar to the 2014 rangers. We had one elite player hank you have barzal. The rest are good players but we aren’t talking about the hawks, kings, pens and lightning teams that have won cups. - nyrangers2
I would have to agree with you. Fair point |

Had Panarin chose to go with the Isles rather than the Rangers... ooof. Coached by Trotz, I think they beat the Lightning in the ECF. |

I would would move Kakko picks and prospect for him. Let Kratsov take kakkos spot. Really hope kappo gets there but nothing impressed me yet |

are you saying you wouldnt do that if you were the Rangers or its not enough for Columbus? - jimbro83
Not enough for the Jackets. The Jackets wont want Strome, he is just a wash for salary, If I was the Jackets I wouldnt trade for 2 unknowns. They will want at least Filip or KK back. |

the Rangers can't trade for Dubois without including Strome or Tony D for salary cap reasons, its simply a must
The Jackets have plenty of cap space, they can just take Strome for the next two years and run with it, if the rest the package is good enough for them
I am willing to include this year's Rangers 1st rounder, but it's gotta be top 3 lottery protected, because even if the Rangers did acquire Dubois, this could go south really fast, this division is brutal, this season is so short and winning the lottery again is a reality that's going to be staring us in the face.
Even if Columbus wants to talk a Dubois trade after the season, if we had the number 1 overall pick again, well that's a hell of a new bargaining chip we'd have to dangle |

I don’t understand what Quinn is doing with the defense. Benching The Patriot because of his freedom of speech issued aside these combinations are the shyts. I liked Quinn and I know I’m not a coach but I never get some of his combos or changes. Without getting into all the pairings... why break up Fox and Lindgren? That alone is a head scratcher. |

this belief that Tony D is being scratched for his freedom of speech stuff is beyond crap
David Quinn's system allowed Tony D to become a great player last season, Tony off the ice isn't doing much different than he was last year
he played like absolute balls Thursday, and guess what, he was arguably the very worst player in the bubble too
he needs to get his head in the damn game and focus on hockey, one game scratch should wake him up |

I was trying to be funny with that but he did say something it had nothing to do with slamming the door. That’s what I meant about the freedom of speech. All that aside the d pairings at practice make no sense to me. And I really enjoyed watching him last year because when he’s on his game the guy has a lot of talent. |

as much as any team in the league, the Rangers needed there to be exhibition games
there are so many young guys, this is a rough spot for them
Tony is not playing well, and that's just the fact
They started playing him in camp on the left side with Trouba and abandoned that pretty quick
it's just obvious that whatever they are seeing in his play, and that's play behind the scenes as much as Thursday, they arent liking what they are seeing, and I think it does go back to the bubble

It’s obvious his mental is not matching his physical. He’s just a guy that get knocks off his game quickly and is easily goaded into saying something stupid. Believe me I want the guy to be great but it looks like he’s his own worst enemy.
Agree 100% on the exhibition games and it really hurts a young team like that to jump from scrimmages to a regular season game in a short schedule season where a slow start kills. |

Yup, I'm as big a fan of Tony as anyone, but he was bad. Then again if I could, I would bench 3/4s of the team for that game. The dude who should be really pissed is Gauthier |

In all seriousness, in this shortened season, if they have a bad 10-15 games he be gone. |
