If Varly cannot go Isles almost have to come back to Sorokin just to see how he responds. - ses111
I would think trotz would unless he feels what we saw yesterday is where Sorokin is in his development. If that’s the case we’re (frank)ed |

Whatever Sorokin was terrible. First game jitters, surprised to play, whatever the reason etc. but the bottom line is he should’ve stopped 4 of those 5 goals imo. The team absolutely sucked in front of him yes but four of those goals were stoppable and as far as his quickness and how he was positionally he was awful I don’t think that’s up for debate. The only thing up for debate is why he was terrible. - Cptmjl
Can someone post the KHL highlight saves bit again. I just want to see how good he is because I saw none of that last night. |

I said this last night we gave up Lehner and Greiss for nothing. I hope it's just the one game that sorokin plays this way or lou is going to be bashed on social media to no end. Cant compare the KHL to the NHL it's not even close. |

Before we run this kid out of town or burn him at the stake. Lets all take a deep breath. First, the way the team played in front of him last night a good midget team could have beaten them. There were a couple of goals that you could question but the end game not all on the kid. The veterans in front of him should be ashamed of how they played. Defenseman Dobson showed growing pains.
Lets hope they wake the heck up against the Bruins. |

First game. Surprise start. Team played like crap in front of him. All of these things are true BUT doesn’t change the fact the kid looked terrible. He looked just as bad if not worse then the team in front of him. I think he actually out sucked the team in front of him
First game I’m obviously not writing him off but wow not a good first impression that’s for sure. |

I mean some were saying we were trading Varly after we signed sOrOkin. Glad that wasn’t done.
Once again this isn’t the KHL and it takes time to adjust but as we saw he looked totally out of his element and I wasn’t impressed for all the hoopla we heard for the last 3 + years.
Hopefully this was a fluke and he turns it around and quickly. |

What bothers me most is his positioning on 3 of those goals was horrible. I didn't expect that. |

It was very odd. You have to know there could be injuries before or during a game and you may need to go in cold. It was like Sorokin had no idea he could be called on yesterday. |

Just hope this is just the one game and he turns it around otherwise we are in trouble. Cant put all this pressure on a rookie in his first nhl contest. It's not fair at all. |

In the KHL (Europe) goalies play deeper in their net because of the increased width of the ice surface. He didn’t come out and cut down the angle enough for me. |

Any Russian superstars available?
I’m thinking we will see a different team against the Bruins tomorrow. With the 56 game season if you drop 5 games in a row your most likely not going to make that up. |

We better see a different team and Ross or MM has to sit. Isles do not have enough offense to play both Ross and Martin. Time to give a decent look at JPG Bellows and Wahlstrom. |

They both played Thursday and the Islanders potted 4 so that doesn’t hold water for me. Ross may sit because of his stupid penalty and give Wahlstrom a go.
Question you honestly think Wahlstrom being in would have made a difference last night. Me thinks not a chance in hell. The whole team didn’t show up and 1 player or 1 line for that matter wasn’t making a difference imho. |

Most teams have a much better D than the Rangers and especially the teams the Isles need to get past. Barry raved about these kids so time to give them a real test. You still do not need 2 tough guys playing together. This is not the 70's and you certainly do not need them against the Rangers. |

He might need to sit. Dobson will have his up's and down's. Takes a lot of games for Dmen to be comfortable. |

Again the lineup was successful Thursday and in the POs so, for me it doesn’t hold water. TEAM, played like shat to a man last night and Gretzky could have been on the ice for the Isles last night in place of MM or Johnston and it wouldn’t have made a difference imo. |

I would leave Johnston in against the Bruins and Capitals |

Of course. His angles still sucked and I expected them to be better. They say he looked good in practice. He's also had time to study and adjust his game.
I am going to chalk it up to nerves and hope he does better in the future. |

Unfortunately TO’s that lead to goals against (2 last night) aren’t going to get you ice time. He plays a few more games like last night you may see Hickey in the line up. |
