Toffoli is getting high danger scoring chances (he just hasn't converted yet) and isn't a defensive liability. Thus far I'm not concerned with him
- Takemedrunkimhome

Definitely. I think he’s actually what keeps alive the third line right now. Armia is pretty transparent and KK seem to try to convert himself into a Gritty forward. Might need a change there

You’re right not to worry, conversions will come and I love the way he manages to sneak up behind the D. He was so close to a breakaway goal last night...How long has it been since we saw the Habs play such exciting hockey?
- Karine Hains

Suzuki and Kotkaniemi led the forwards in hits while Romanov led the d in hits. They're exciting, they're fast, they're big, they're deep and they have a good mix of vets, prime guys and youth. Even the times they were successful the last decade or two, they weren't fun to watch. Thus far, this group is fun to watch

Wait! Edmundson has a 5hits night and a +3 rating. I thought He did an amazing job as well.

But seriously, Bergy did a great job this summer. Still think replacing KK by PLD would be the nail but I doubt it happens.

So this week games are so late damnnn

Money wise, getting PLD would throw a spanner in the works I think, the Canadiens cannot afford him without getting rid of a big salary and still for money reasons, they are better off with Suzuki and KK who will remain affordable for a few seasons. Besides, looking at them play so far, every line is clicking, I wouldn’t attempt to fix what isn’t broken...especially not during the season. PLD would have a two week quarantine meaning that Poehling would have to step up in the line-up at centre and I don’t think that would be very wise right now...

If PLD is available after this season, absolutely, let's talk. Teams will have a better idea on long term economics, Habs could have the opportunity to negotiate an extension prior to the trade, no border crossing quarantines to worry about etc. For now, leave things as they are unless the offer is too good to pass up

Goal is to always get better. The guy is 22, a huge center with skills, he’s from here and i believe he’s a better player then Kk. I understand we are good at the moment but I still feel having a PLD for part of season and Playoff would get us a good chance to go further. Money wise, Weal, Armia, Lehkonen, Tatar, Danault are all coming off the book next year. Best chance to trade would be in mid Feb, a week with 3 games and the other with 1. Having our taxi squad is the right opportunity to fill the holes at this moment.

I don’t believe Bergevin will be able to make a deal with CLB, I believe they’ll have better offers then we can afford but in my mind it would be worth the try. Just talking for fun anyway, season is young but knowing that PLD would like to come and asked for a trade, it’s an interesting opportunity there since we know in 2016 Habs were trying to trade Subban to the oilers for their #4 pick.

So now I'm getting points deducted in the pool? How do you lose points? This has to be the stupidest point system ever!

The weekly matchup score was 7-5 on opening night and it remained the same for 3 nights, after yesterday's games, it's now 7-3!!

it's pretty simple really. there's 10 or 12 categories, you get 1 point for each category you win. so yes after day one you may lead in the goal category, but that can change every day depending on your opponent' results.

So I got 2 points deducted how? If he took the lead in 2 categories, he should have gained 2 points, no?

Right.... so really it doesn't matter how many goals your players get, as long as it's more than your weekly matchup.... which kinda sucks

.750 actually compared to .667 Leafs

1 small "win" vs edm and one HUGE loss to Toronto. Really .333 if we're being honest

I see.... I still think it's rather dumb but at least I get it now! And there's nowhere to see the details of that Weekly matchup? Other than the overall score?

Let’s be honest. If it wasn’t about penalties and a 5v3, Habs would have won this game

Wait, did they lost to the Sens the other night? 🤔

Actually, they absolutely CAN fit Dubois under the cap during the season if they're determined to. If it got them a prize line PLD, MB wouldn't hesitate to jettison any or all of Byron, Lehky, Armia, Kulak, and perhaps others in order to create the space.

I've actually been in Columbus this weekend working on a different news story but caught up with some people with knowledge of the situation. If you're interested, here's what I found out: http://wix.to/LcCEDJA?ref=2_cl

Yup! 3 of 4 points on the road to start the season, I'll definitely take it... a nice bonus that the offense looks really good, 9 goals in those 2 games!

Fatal flaw of fantasy hockey in a weekly matchup system compared to football is the number of games per player per week, especially with goalie stats. But it's fantasy so there's no perfect system
