After an historically bad season the Hawks will draft to 4th after the draft lottery.
- DarthKane

Ya that could happen . Maybe we can get the Swedish goalie then fingers crossed

A joke of a D zone system. JV netminding and zero consistency to apply pressure in the O zone and you have this. Giving up 5 a game?!?!?

Boqvist needs to be in Rockford. Kid is lost. Beaudin is more prepared at this point. A top 3 pick is guaranteed with this group.

is it to early to consider Bovquist a miss?
- TJYTJY

I don't think he a miss just been rushed way to fast he even said when drafted he was 3 or 4 years away .

He's definitely struggling even with his skating looking worse every game.

What did Colliton just say about low ice time for certain players - he didn’t realize it? He doesn’t have an answer for why?

Probably.
Tampa playing hawks and wings 18 times (i think). Pretty much gimmes. Cooper can rest his better players more than any other team. Nice set up for them.

That’s another mind boggling decision. To extend JC. This team has the makings to be historically bad this year.

It'll get worse. This club will yield double figures several times.
over/under for this group is about 25 points.

Redwings and Hawks will be fighting for the most ping pong balls.

- ArlingtonRob

Wings will and get Power. Hawks will get Raty/Ratu (spelling?)

Boqvist was a miss in 2018, Beaudin will have a better career. Bouchard and Dobson would have been better picks at #8.

Actually, I think Seattle gets #4 so the Hawks will drop to #5.

Boqvist is simply not ready for the NHL. It’s unfortunate that we have to wait another two weeks for him to be sent down to Rockford. He was taken off the PP and not sure what D-Man is served best to babysit him right now. Give Carlsson a shot already. He can at least hold his own in the defensive zone.

Also Kubalik still not being on the PP is criminal.

The tough thing for young player development right now is that from March of 2020 until Fall of 2021, the AHL will have played about 25 games at most. Not much development going on with twentysomething games in 18 months.

Agree I liked Bouchard more then Boqvist but not ready to give up on him yet let him go down and play in the A for sometime .I am bias will always take the Canadian kid . I am not sure Stan is the one to do a rebuild . Owen Power would be amazing add if we could ever get that lucky .

I wonder what this team would have looked like with Toews, Dach and Soderberg. That’s 3 solid defensive forwards that would have made an impact. They may have still been 0-3 or maybe 1-2 but the games would have been respectable.

I was so hoping the Canucks would have drafted Boqvist that year and passed on Hughes. Can you imagine....

True, but they would have lost 5-3 instead of 5-2.

On the bright side, DeBrincat appears to be bouncing back quite well.

Would they have gotten Soderberg if Toews and Dach hadn’t been out?

This is all on Bowman. The kid had a very good first year on a good team in London playing under Dale Hunter, who believe it or not knows something about competitive hockey. Bryan Campbell was in contact with the kid on a regular basis too. That's 2 former NHL players looking after the kid who was 18 at the time.

And then the brilliant GM decides he should play in Rockford the next season because as a Euro he could play in the AHL when other North American juniors could not. And then, voila he is brought up to the NHL halfway thru the season.

Perfect way to ruin a kid's career early by playing him in a league he isn't ready for.

Well if we keep seeing the same bullcrap sooner or later both Colliton and Bowman will act on it.
Probably.

Queeneville must be saying to himself, how the mighty Blackhawks have fallen.

- jhawk59

He's also saying thank God I'm out of there, and I told you guys Stan's trades were horrendous. Let's re-visit.
1. Saad for Zadorov
2. Maata for Morrison (who?)
3 .Lehner for Subaan
4.Joki for Nystrom
5. Schmaltz for Strome
6. Kahun for Maata
7. Hammer for Murphy
8. Bickell/TT for picks
9. Danault for Weisse/Fleischman
10. Panarin for Saad/Forsberg

I'm sure I'm missing some and yes lots of this had cap implications behind them, but those were created by bad contracts he gave out and we certainly don't have to revisit them too.

Yuk....I'm sick.
Thank God for Euro's added and Dach that have been successful.
Other than that, it's a trainwreck similar to the Bears situation. It starts at the TOP and who's making the hockey decisions. It's going to be a messy year with JC behind the bench as well but I look forward to watching the development of the kids. That's all we got for this year boys.

A first year pee wee goalie has better fundamentals than Delia. Might as well give him a forwards stick. He has more interest in passing the puck than stopping it.
- LAHawk

How can Delia be your guy. JC. When he isn't the guy.

Delia. Delineated aka Delia - nated.

And if he is not in game condition (due to short camp) then he needs to go down to Rockford (allowed via new rules this season?). Call it injury rehab. That is, injurious to our eyes. Maybe Delia needs a full training camp. Laakinen should be in net Who thinks it will be Subban again

So the whispers that McDonough wanted Boqvist fast tracked is unsubstantiated?
