How do you get "Lakes" out of Lankinen? Is that his actual nickname? - GPHawksfan
Better then “Lanksy” (which is probably what it is). |

Kind of surprised, what makes them decide Delia over Subban? They both struggled, maybe it was the mishandling of the puck and then falling on his ass. |

Samsonov (Caps goalie] just pulled a “Delia” without falling down - behind the net, misplayed the couldn’t get back, Pens scored into an empty net.
Looked like the puck hit the crossbar and came out - replayed from the front CLEARLY showed that - but a replay from the side showed the puck clearly hit the camera box in back so good goal. Amazing how different angles can show very different apparent results. |

Yup, Delia gets the nod again tonight. Plus, the same lineup as Friday. Not sure if that means same lines but I would keep them as is.
I like the spark better with Strome centering Kubalik and Kurashev. Suter can help win battles and crash the net for Kane and DeBrincat. |

Lakes better get the net tonight.
Those other two are all over the place. You can't be a starter in the NHL and lose your net 4 and 5 times a game.
Are you kidding me. Watch other games, you don't see goalies all over the place like that.
I know my views have been limited, but Lakes seems to me the most fundamentally sound, though probably not best athlete of the 3.
Since the first game I ever saw Delia play, I thought he looks like he could be good, but he is all over the place. I thought by now, they would have coached that out of him.
He scares the hell out of me every time I see him play. - vabeachbear
Based on their seasons last year in Rockford, I like Lankinen over Delia as far as composure.
Delia is either locked in tracking pucks well and compact in his movements or all over the place chasing pucks and losing his net.
Lankinen doesn't get rattled much and is even keel. Cool and sound. Last season when Lankinen was perceived to be down in his play, that wasn't really the case. He was fine overall despite a few shaky games but it was just Delia was playing lights out in comparison.
After standing on his head for a stretch after sorting out his off-ice preoccupations, Delia eventually reverted back to running hot and cold. Consistency is key for him. Subban, too. |

Sure but Suter has got to get better on defense he can't allow a shot on net like he did with Killorn he had his stick in position but with a quick curl and drag shot buried it. |

Good thought on Moberg.
Baptism by fire due to no games being played in the DUB.
Delia started out well.
I bet it is more a "we played better, so keep the line-up the same against a "weaker" team.
No matter what we think both Suter & Janmark have to settle in as help at the pivot.
Janmark has got good job and can play, but everyone is a better player if the guys around them are higher skilled.
I really thought we might see the Finn in the net.
Boqvist has to play to get better, period.
This is the best time for long leases...

No problem with the Cap
But then do you give the current trioka a fair opportunity to show they are worthy NHL starters?
I believe the litmus test often is, is the newbie better than whom he replaces. Dell has to be reasonably better, because I doubt this has any bearing on $$$( as for Blackhawks). question in a throw away year if they need a veteran goaltender.
Interesting though Spezza says he would retire if claimed off waivers. Might these moves by Toronto be salary cap related. Want to get farther under the cap. I know Robertson, the rookie, is set to debut as reported on a Toronto media story on tsn.ca/nhl |

Yes, only 1 game this season, but his skating, passing and losing his net have not improved from where it was on his last stint in the NHL 2 years ago. You’d assume that they’ve worked with him on all 3. The lessons have not taken effect yet. |

It wouldn't hurt to give Moberg an AHL contract or at least an ATO. The Hogs need numbers on the blueline. He brings size and defense-first mentality.
Ryczek is an option but he couldn't even make the Fuel roster and couldn't get into a game with the Hogs last season when recalled.

Why he win a job anywhere before this?
There is a better chance of Crow returning that adding Dell. |

For those of you tracking ex-Hawks, Koekkoek had a goal, was +1, and had 2 shots, 2 blocks & 2 hits for the Oilers last night. |

At this point Stan might as well let this play out and see if he has anything with one of the 3. You can always find an NHL veteran goalie in the future. |

Stupid Bowman got rid of another player just as he turned his game around. Although the real culprit is Colliton who had no idea how to use Koekkoek and made him look bad. |

If he says he'll retire, teams won't pick him up. I wonder if we could trade for him, and have Toronto give us a 3rd for future considerations. If he really won't play for us, Toronto gets him off their books, and Chicago won't have to worry about paying him. |

You’d make a good GM with that thinking. If the Hawks have the cap space I’d like to see that. |
