Stupid Bowman got rid of another player just as he turned his game around. Although the real culprit is Colliton who had no idea how to use Koekkoek and made him look bad.

No problem with the Cap

But then do you give the current trioka a fair opportunity to show they are worthy NHL starters?

I believe the litmus test often is, is the newbie better than whom he replaces. Dell has to be reasonably better, because I doubt this has any bearing on $$$( as for Blackhawks). question in a throw away year if they need a veteran goaltender.

Interesting though Spezza says he would retire if claimed off waivers. Might these moves by Toronto be salary cap related. Want to get farther under the cap. I know Robertson, the rookie, is set to debut as reported on a Toronto media story on tsn.ca/nhl

Robertson got hurt Saturday night out for awhile that's what screwed up their cap was what Elliot Freeman said after the game .

Your assesment based upon a couple games this year, and he has one goal. Doesn't he loose a lot of board battles.

Sure hope springs perhaps because he was judged to have the talent to succeed, being a 12th overall. An dmen need experience, need the common denominator many say 250 -300 NHL gp to become good.

I know Montreal outplayed Edmonton in one of the Oilers games this season. When Special K came to Chicago i saw signs occasionally that he would check and he had the wheels to be a descent puck mover. But he had bone head moments and lost a lot of board battles. My hope for the former first round selection waned.

So if you see a breakthrough please explain. I see Edm has first round dmen Bouchard and Broberg in the wings....might be getting opportunity next year. Barrie and Koekkoek seem like fillers and available for Seattle to claim in The Expansiin Draft.

Kind of surprised, what makes them decide Delia over Subban? They both struggled, maybe it was the mishandling of the puck and then falling on his ass.
- BetweenTheDots

Not surprised at all...Unlike many on hockey message boards I'm thankful NHL GMs, coaches, and scouts don't decide a player's fate based on 1 game.

Drama

Washington - Pittsburgh rivalry featuring the Crosby vs Ovechkin match up.

Tied 3-3 & went to shoot out.

All missed: Letang, Crosby, Ovechkin, Oshie, Kuznetsov. Then Guentzal won it.

Neither Delia nor Subban was good in their 1st starts. It’s a coin flip on which was worse.

How about we have all the brilliant Hockey Buzz posters pick which of the Hawks 3 headed goalie battle will be the top dog at season’s end. In the nomenclature of ‘Iron Chef’, who will reign supreme?

I’ll go first. Lankinen.

When are you going to get it? The Hawks are rebuilding so expectations are much different. This year and next is about developing talent. How is a young player namely a goalie going to develop if they keep changing them out game after game? If it were me I would let them play 3 in..3 out...at least for the first half of the season. This is not a veteran group that is expected to compete for a cup. As fans we should be hoping Delia bounces back and has a solid game...maybe JC wants to see what he is made of which is part of developing a young player.

My preference is along the same lines with the goalie situation. Subban should have gotten at least two games in a row, then let Delia have his turn in this set versus the Panthers and alternate from there every 2-3 games.

Still time to go with this pattern, i.e. have each get their first game in the books then alternate every few games starting with having Delia play the pair in Miami then Subban gets the next 3.

Working in Lankinen makes the rotation more complex but this season for all teams is anything but straight forward.

Hey Theo, I think you go with a rotation through the first 24 games. Let each guy play a set rotation of 3 games four times. Whoever has played the best stays and the other switches with Lankinen.

Personally I’m not real concerned about the current goalie situation. It’s unlikely any of these three will be in two years let alone when the hawks are competitive. I want to see the focus on development, playing time and special teams situations for the young prospects that are expected to be the future. And at the same time continue the development of Dcat, Strome and Kubalik.

They were terrible when Al Rollins won the rookie of the year...I think they gave it to him because he was shell-shocked.

That sounds like a good plan to me.

In the crazy event that the Hawks qualify for the playoffs, they will need to anoint a starter. A rotation in the postseason would be unwise.

If the Hawks are in the hunt for a berth, then it likely means one of the goalies has separated from the pack anyway.

Yes, and I'm beginning to see that. It seems a lot of Blackhawks are not embracing the rebuild or they are but have unrealistic expectations for the young players and their performance. It will be a long 2-3 years for these Hawk fans.
