Stating the obvious here, however, Pettersson with one assist in four games as your top offensive weapon in the top six isn't good enough, he has to be better.
- Pacificgem

I think he's hurt from that McDavid running him in the 1st game.

Everyone just relax, the teams they are playing also didn't have a pre season and are still beating Van.
- manvanfan

Agree, however, it's not a linear thing for everyone, hopefully it's just taking a bit of time for them to get going.

The Flames best players have been their best players, Gaudreau, Monohan, Lindholm & Tkachuk all leading the team in scoring. We aren't getting that....yet!

It's Benning's fault, he can draft but he can't build...I'm sticking with that and poor coaching until they make changes

Have to wonder, with TG not having a contract.... if the Canucks falter more out of the blocks how quickly does he move to the hot seat?

If the team continues to play poorly defensively I'm quite positive they'll make a coaching change.

Honestly, I don't mind TG much, I think he's a good coach with the young guys, and he's smart.

His assistants though... horsepoop.

Unless they promote from within, be hard to bring in a new coach and have them quarantine for 2 weeks.

it's been an accumulation of everything at different times it seems. The Canucks couldn't control the play last season and are showing they can't really do it this season either.

Difference this year is they aren't exceeding there expected goals for like they were last season.

Give him a rest and try out chatfield. Might force Green to have to play the other 3- 25 minutes each other because his "easing" in players means not even giving them a chance.

Just an observation from my point, but, I still see a clear lack of skill on the team. I watched Gaudette, who I love for his effort, try and handle the puck in the neutral zone and he just doesn't have great puck skills. If he was carrying a knife the puck would be in 40 pieces...yikes!

They have some great shooters, but not many play-makers at even strength; shooters are Boeser, Horvat, Miller, Pearson, Gaudette, Virtanen....only Petey has puck skills enough to carry it and set someone up on a consistent basis.

I've already got the entire new staff picked out.

Sadly, how do you do it with meetings other than zoom, practice time is in short supply this season, you've got a team that is customized to Green. People coming in have to quarantine.

Makes it very hard to make a change this season.

Fire Green and have Trent Cull fill in for the rest of the season and let the STL blues coach the Comets this season? Not a step forward in coaching but then FA isn't paying another coach this season.

The season ends in May or June, that's a long ways away, two weeks is nothing if you want to build a culture and concentrate on next year....should things get away from the team quickly.

They aren't going to fire Green after 5 or probably even 10 games. I'd be shocked if they did.

Unless they are getting my staff

I think you would wait till the off season to see who is available.

I think you have to ride Green out this year. It'd be so hard in a pandemic setting to change coaches – looking at the Canucks schedule they don't have more than one day off until Feb 8.

See if they can turn it around. If not, fire Green and bring someone in this offseason... like Gallant, unless Seattle grabs him.

Probably right, they'll sink or swim with Green for this year

Vicious slash to the upper chest, he looked frustrated last night for some reason?
