Vicious slash to the upper chest, he looked frustrated last night for some reason?
- Pacificgem

Probably frustrated with his coach.

Day 4 training camp, let's see where we're at after 10-12 games.

Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson has been fined $3,987.07, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Slashing Calgary’s Sean Monahan.

He better be careful, playing the same 6 team all year players don’t forget.

At 12 games 20% of the season is done, things are going to happen quickly this year with a short, compressed schedule, there's not much time to get your ducks in a row!!

It's too early to panic but the next three games are really important.

Flames blogger ripping into Hamonic for his play last night, I want to chirp him but he's kinda right....what to do?

I think he's hurt from that McDavid running him in the 1st game.
- manvanfan

He came in to start with 10 more pounds of muscle this year. Whenever I hear that much weight gain in that short of time I always think that's not good.

Maybe it was the cross checks from Monahan that weren't being called, or the terrible holding penalty called on him before that as well?

The next 12 games are against eastern teams, maybe that will get them out of their funk. The next 3 are against the Hab's, they need to win at least 2.

Just reading about the usual November 1st indication of who is in the playoff picture and who isn't, under normal circumstances. In a regular year most teams have played around 12 games by November 1st of an NHL season, which is around 15% of the season. At 12 games this year you will have played around 20% of the season.

"Elliotte Friedman often mentions the Nov. 1 benchmark: Teams four points (or more) out of the playoffs at that point rarely overcome the deficit. Since 2005-06, 46 of 52 teams (88 per cent) that far out on Nov. 1 ended up missing the playoffs."

Probably right, they'll sink or swim with Green for this year
- Pacificgem

Seeing a lot of strong coaching staffs these days.

Dallas last year had Montgomery until he got fired, Then Bowness, John Stevens, Todd Nelson, all have previous head coaching experience.

Flyers picked up AV and had Mike Yeo and Therrien join him.

Sheldon Keefe even has Dave Hakstol and Paul Mclean and Manny.

Out of work coaches include under 60 years old

Todd Reirden
Mike Babcock
Guy Boucher
Gerrard Gallant
Adam Oates

Glad, I missed that one. Green should have listened to Benning and gone with Chatfield instead of Hamonic.

The GF (9), GA (16) is a bit concerning. Oilers are there as well, they also need to fix things.

This team IMO needs an experienced coaching staff, something they're sorely lacking.

You don't get more Vancouver than this ( not aimed at you)

Zoom media scrums and Rich Dhaliwal and the TSN media very loud and upset that Travis Green did not have a new contract . Openly asking Benning with Green sitting beside him why does Green not have a contract.

Who did Petey or McDavid?

Petey didn't gain any weight between the play ins and now.

Todd Nelson and John Stevens were on my HC want list years ago when I wanted Green fired. Last year together they went to the SCF with Dallas.

Even Philly doing really well last year with a strong staff.

Petey
- VANTEL

According to Daniel Wagner in Aug 2020
"His Calder-winning rookie season should have erased those doubts, but even now there are those that question whether Pettersson, now listed at 176 lbs, can adapt to the punishing physicality of the NHL playoffs."

Petey said he was 176 when asked this year as well.

It was reported him and Rafferty both gained weight. That is why there was controversy at the first Zoom scrum where Petey and Jake both got defensive and Jake came to Petey rescue with the line yeah lets drop it. Next question.

It was like game 4 of 3 years ago I wanted Green fired. I really think Benning is seeing how this season is going with "Green's team" and if it doesn't go well, they will have a new staff next season.
