what they should do, and it's obvious, is take Strome off the first powerplay unit and put Kakko there, but I think Strome being a right handed shot is one of the reasons he's there

But, I think we have the Ryan Strome the Oilers had, he's back

- jimbro83

I talk about regression to the mean and we have a bad stretch at the end of last season as further evidence, but there's still been way too many good games Strome has had with us vs bad for me to write him off yet.

That being said, in a few games I'm all for swapping Chytil and Strome if he continues struggling. I've been on record saying it's not ideal for Chytil to be 2C, but if Strome isn't producing with Panarin, his value is kinda limited.

Yep totally agree was saying that last night. He needs to get off of that unit
- TPC

Its why I said last night, what is Stromes job on the PP? Panarin and Fox look they are playing keep away from him.

At this point they need to put Tony back in. You don't bench the guy who was 4th overall in defenseman for points, can QB a PP with Fox and clicked with Panarin last year. Quinn wanted to make a point, fine. If they are going to bench people for playing awful, Trouba should be benched for a week after last nights abortion.

- mdw7413

Agree 100% about Trouba. He was careless and slow to react.
I have no problem with ADA not playing, though. He benched him for good reason and they played a nearly flawless game. When things are working, you leave them alone. Quinn's not the first to do so. He will be back Friday.

Morning all, thanks for carrying the blog. My schedule is swamped, so unsure when I will be able to post a new blog. Will do my best for sometime today if I can.

Who will they take out? It should be JJ but we all know he is never coming out of the lineup. I guess the easy choice is just Smith but he doesn't deserve to come out

Yeah, their chemistry is 80% of the reason he is still here.
I may be in the minority, but I have been quite pleased with Chytil so far. He looks WAY bigger than the stick he was last year. And he's starting to play like it. Bit more of the bull in a china shop to his game along the boards.
That line was flying last night. Would've loved to see Gaut with him and Kakko instead of PDG. But honestly, Gautier did not look impressive last night, for the 1st time to my eye.

Should be Trouba. He was not good.
They were all careless with the puck, but he was one of the worst. Had to be 50 turnovers to go with the 50 shots!

Why is Pizza Boy wearing the full plastic shield on his helmet? Feels like I am watching the Mighty Ducks every time he is on the ice

Lias Andersson made his debut last night for Kings, played 8 minutes, so it's like he never left

Who cares, someone has to come out. When we are talking about hockey, Tony makes this team better, thats a fact.

Its like because of 1 bad game everyone forgets how (frank)ing good he was last year.

he had a rough night, but to be fair, he's playing against the best Devils forwards

they aren't scratching Trouba 3 games into the season

Adam Fox doing an amazing job running the powerplay, just because they lost, I dont know if it automatically means Tony D is back

Other than finding another top 6 center that is the biggest thing this team needs.

They need to find a long term partner for Trouba. Whether that is a prospect in the system or someone outside the organization. He is making too much money to suck this bad. Need to fix him.

I think you're right. Probably should be Trouba, but won't be.
Quinn has made that call before, but it's unlikely so soon.

Fox should never come off the ice on the PP.
Love watching him play like few others!!

Fox is very close to becoming an elite d man in this league. It's pretty exciting.

Well I think everyones expectation is that Miller would become that guy.

Personally, I think Trouba doesnt finish his contract here and gets bought out in 4-5 yrs. making space for Schneider.

He's going to be a Norris finalist sometime soon in this league. I honestly think he's the most important guy on the blue line in our process, not K'Andre or Nils. Fox is going to drive the bus so to speak.
