they have a good team, less fire power than EDM and TOR but better balanced - fidopro
I agree totally ... I wouldn't trade my team against theirs for sure.
I like the balance of size and speed in our offense but I feel it's our defense that will make a big difference this year. They totally shut down Edmonton's stars 2 games in a row.
After watching Allen play in goal, I won't be bitting my nails like I was in past years when our backup played.
PS: As you mentioned earlier, that Romanov kid is impressive indeed ... good skater, shot and good passer. Quite a step up from Mete for sure.

I haven't watched the Canucks this year ... not sure what to expect from them.
Not making any predictions at this point.
However, I really LOVE the new look of our defense this year ... quite an improvement so far. - Garfield512
i've seen them a few times just because their games were all that was on when i was flipping around and maybe i was just catching them at the wrong times but nothing exciting seemed to be happening in their games ever.

Not surprized, the guy has no shot ... I much prefer Kulak and Romanov as our third D pair. - Garfield512
Romanov is gonna end up with Petry at one point. I dont mind the pairing as they are now, good balance between the 2nd and 3rd pairing and Romanov gets Pp and Pk time so good for his developpement

I just keep thinking back at all the "experts" on draft daywho kept saying the Habs made a mistake in taking him so early. To a big extent, drafting involves a lot of luck and sometimes taking a chance on a player... otherwise you end up with safe mediocrity of 4th line players over and over. - Mashadar

wouldn't the logical move be to have Romanov play with Weber, to have a more "offensive-minded" dman on the 1st and 2nd pair?

I like how they're handling him. He's getting a decent amount of time and opportunity but he's not being thrown to the fire like Mete was. For me I'd let him get to the first pairing when he's shown it's the spot he should occupy based on his play

oh I wouldn't put him there right away either, just replying to fred's comment that he would end up playing with Petry. gotta say, I was a bit concerned about all the hype surrounding him and how he would deal with it, but he seems to be really enjoying himself out there, and he's showing he's a very smart player. very impressive so far.

Remember when people got pissy because Karine shared the comparison to PK? 3 games in it isn't tough to see what she was saying

Personally, I'm enjoying his game more than I did PK. Sure, PK could bring us to our feet with his slappers and his big hits, but Romanov is playing a smarter game on both ends of the ice. I'm cautiously optimistic right now. Romanov could become the next General.

Karine made the comparison based on energy and upbeat attitude if I recall and it seems apt watching him. He may be a less offensive but more complete player than PK but there is a certain joie de vie (spelling?) to him

Good morning, gentlemen! What'd you guys think of the game last night? I felt that the Habs started out a bit slow, but despite the 3000 penalties, I never felt like they were in any danger.
