Want to see the same intensity that was in the final 10min of yesterday's game, sustained, throughout the game. FOWs are awesome (Glenny is a beast at the dot), good passing & patience BUT often taking too long for the "ideal" SOG. Just shoot the biscuit. Need to be able to handle the quick outlets, so D needs to be prepared at the blue-line (no, BerBuzzi DOESN'T COUNT as a D-man alone at the blue-line....). Our desire to shoot long outlets through traffic is of concern. We need some strong cycling on the PP and better boxing on the PK.

Injuries are piling up, if you've noticed. OEL down, Robertson down, Matheson to IR, etc... Early games are a chance to get the TS guys into the flow of the game, so may be a good thing to see Smith, Lindstrom, et. al., get some reps before more guys like Fabbri go down and we're forced to play guys without their game legs under them. I liked the line of Larkin, Zadina, & Ryan toward the end of the game; generated some buzz, but were a tad disjointed.... May be a touch early to continuously jumble lines; that a Blash move that seems to rule the day when he can't figure out how the heck the Wings are being beaten......

Those last minutes were a lot of fun for sure. I was happy at 37 shots, but breaking 40 would be fantastic. You’re right, I’d like to see the five man unit tighter. Lots of New D. I’ve seen very good glimpses. Dekeyser has been missed. Stecher had some nice plays for sure. I’m enjoying the new look

Thank you so much! I love what CBJ has done culture wise, and Jones is easily my favorite defenseman. I thought Detroit looked so good 1st period and 2nd part of the third. What the jackets do so well is break up passes, block lanes, and transition. The up and down game really favors Columbus. I think the team is really solid, and Detroit did so much better in staying in it this time. I think, in the division, Chicago is going to struggle so much more as Detroit finds its feet. Tampa Bay, Florida, Carolina, Columbus, Dallas (when they start) are all making a case to take the division early. Nashville looks good, I’m just not sure if they’re going to hang on

New Red Wings drinking game. Each time Mickey Redmond says "Brome is 26 going on 27 years old" we all take a shot of whiskey. I figure we'll all be drunk after the first period. The funniest part is that Brome's birthday isn't until July 29.

Look, CBJ has the tools to get there, for sure. I wish the situation w/PLD wasn't so tenuous, but I reckon that happens sometimes. There's some serious talent, especial Korpi - that guy's got potential "out the wazoo...".

First period notes are up. Lots of continued play, no flow.

First Period Summary - the period had less flow than a kinked garden hose. Shots were 8-7 in favor of CBJ, but chances were limited on both sides. Tight checking in all three zones, no real sustained pressure on either side. The “Bingo Balls” has killed the flow that was coming together (my opinion) and faceoffs are not going well for Detroit. Lots of continual play without a whistle, lots of up and down.
