Agreed Fully. Player accountability is 100% needed. I stressed this in a previous post after the 1st game when people were saying "fire Quinn". The players need to be responsible for every decision they make with the puck and also being prepared to play mentally. I do not see a reason to fire Quinn at this point. I am just hoping that Quinn, Drury and the other coaches are doing a lot in the back ground that we don't see that will eventually show up on the ice. - NYRCeph
This is the part I try to keep in mind. It can be hard sometimes. We are all pretty damn passionate fans here and we tend to think we know our team intimately. But, the reality is that the coaches, GM's, scouts, and trainers ACTUALLY know these players. They spend all day, every day with them. And they are doing so much with them that we are not privy to that is silly to think that we know better. |

Rangers have assigned Barron and Robertson to Hartford. This means team can shuttle one forward and one defenseman from varsity to taxi squad on off days in order to add cap space. Waivers would be required on Smith, Johnson, Rooney. None of these players would lose $ on JV. |

Plus, young guys are going to make mistakes, sometimes lots of them. It's how they learn. The key is going to be whether in game 50 or even next year if they cut down on the mistakes and if they do, this team will be in good shape.
I remember last year I predicted slow start followed by buzzsaw and I think we could see something similar out of us this year. The thing working against us is the shortened season, so if it takes until game 25 or 30 for things to click then it will be way to late for this year. - 2sticks1puck
Also have to get Kinkaid 19 games to qualify for the draft. |

no, that's not the case with Kinkaid, he's played 157 NHL games
Bitetto is who has to get the 19 games
it's confusing rule though, the qualificatons for the goalie you expose and defenseman are completely different |

This is true. But, take last game for example, is Quinn to be blamed for these guys simply making horrible decisions with the puck? We saw very poor puck management all game long. At the end of the day, it is the player with the stick in his hands that is responsible for the decisions they make on the ice. - Tonybere
We can all agree that there were questions coming into this season on Quinn, which is likely why he's receiving the bulk of the blame for this 3-game season. Those deficiencies were, in no particular order, failure to get the team "up" for games, failure to have confidence in the lines and quick to shorten the bench, mediocre schemes (especially in the defensive zone).
So far this season, every single one of those issues has persisted.
I'm all for giving Quinn the length of the season to turn things around. He's definitely not the root cause for every problem the team is experiencing, but we shouldn't turn a cheek to the fact that these aren't new issues. I think he deserves to be in the hot seat right now. |

Gotcha.
So we can expose Kinkaid without him having played a single game for us? Sign me up and forget about Bitetto. |

yep, Kinkaid is all set to be our exposed goalie and we can protect Georgiev and Shesty is exempt
for the most part Rangers in good spot with expansion draft, other team's gonna have some issues, I don't think Tampa can protect Ryan McDonagh for instance

I think it helps them ultimately
there's just a difference between us losing a guy like Howden or Lemieux and Tampa losing someone like McDonagh though
