People need to realize how crazy smart the Covid virus is. In Michigan, Covid knows not to mess with a thousand kids in a junior high, with 30 kids packed in a class for 8 hours per day, but will infect 22 kids spending an hour and a half on an outdoor football field. Covid knows not to mess with hundreds of thousands of gamblers in Las Vegas, going from casino to casino, day-after-day, for up to 24 hours per day, but it'll infect people who go to church for 45 minutes per week. In many states, Covid knows not to mess with thousands of people at a Walmart, but will infect even a single person who sits down to eat at a restaurant. Covid will pass by those who are rioting and looting for leftists causes, but unleash itself during an hour long speech by a conservative.

So with Covid being so incredibly smart, to the point where it obeys politicians, it totally makes sense that players can be safe from Covid while spending hours together in the locker rooms, gyms, training rooms, on the ice and on the bench, but should those same players spend 5 minutes together in a different type of room...particularly a hotel room...Covid will reign down hell.

If it is just teammates in a hotel room, what is the big deal. That is insane. These guys are sitting on a bench on top of each other for 60 minutes a game. Not to mention practicing together. Traveling together.

Unless they had outsiders in that room, I have no idea what we are complaining about.

I understand the rule, they want to limit duration of close contact as much as possible but at the same time they are also in close contact with each other all day at the rink(on the ice, bench, and the locker room), in close contact with other teams, and close contact with their families. If they get covid, who's to say they picked it up from one another in the hotel room vs the locker room a few hours prior.

However, the rules are clearly laid out for them (even if they don't agree with them). To the best of my knowledge they weren't written using a cipher code. So they did choose to ignore a rule the NHL deems essential. Fine them, move on.

Because the rules they signed off on clearly prohibit it. And also clearly outlined the penalty for not abiding by it. Players all signed off on this. This was their way to play and get millions while much of the general population continue to struggle.

Whether you are an athlete, celebrity or one of us regular folks. We all need to follow the rules and should receive appropriate consequences. The Capitals players who violated quarantine should ABSOLUTELY be suspended without pay for 10 days. These players are not acting in a professional manner. Don't forget Kuznetsov had been suspended for using cocaine and Ovi was criticized for his actions when celebrating with the Stanley Cup. Make an example of these guys!

so what you're saying is that the virus is spreading uncontrolled around the world, that no countries are able to stop it (except the ones that are islands and can stop people from coming in), but at the same time you're arguing that it's not a big deal..................yeah, your argument is really starting to fall apart man.
