I had it. I have antibodies (and no sense of smell and barely any taste, 8 months later). I'm not too worried about myself or my wife (she had it too), although I certainly don't want it again. It suuuuuuuuuuucked. Worst body pains ever. Like a kidney stone in every one of my muscles.

I don't want to give it to someone else. That's why wearing a mask is prudent.

- GalacticStone

5 people in the entire world has had it twice

and that is assuming the first and second time the test was accurate

you will not give someone the virus now, incubation has long passed for you

it's all for the perception of other people that you are now wearing a mask

Source?

That is a very simplistic view of an emerging virus threat with an evolving body of science behind it.

Did you actually READ the article you linked?

Yes, it's "very rare". There was no quoted statistics that say "5 cases worldwide" and very rare can mean a ton of cases in a global sample size.

I read the medical journals those Prevention/Readers Digest type articles quote from. Nothing in the linked studies blow off the reinfection chances like you suggest. You are talking out of your ass.

The majority consensus amongst academics and doctors is that Covid-19 is a much more serious threat than the flu and should be taken more seriously than flu.

Those who disagree are YouTube cranks seeking clicks and armchair doctors in hockey forums.

Yeah dude, I saw that. Quoted from one Lancet study. You are aware that other studies are ongoing and being published on a daily basis (hundreds of them). The actual number is going to be higher than five and likely already is.

Let's just stop. You can go ahead and not take this poop seriously. I hope you continue to get lucky and I hope the people you love continue to get lucky.

I will "leave in fear" because I have an immune condition and bad lungs and the poop was rough on the first go round. I don't like my chances with it again.

once you are over it, you produce antibodies, you can't spread the virus to others as the incubation stage has long passed

perhaps you need to sit this topic out and stick to d!ck jokes

Where did you get your medical degree?

It has not been proven that exposure to covid makes you immune.

"However, based on current studies, antibodies to the COVID-19 virus can be detected for a number of months post-exposure*. It is also important to note that having COVID-19 antibodies does not infer immunity."

I think what a lot of you are leaving out is that even if you contract the disease and are rendered "immune," that doesn't mean that you can't spread it to others. The next time you are exposed, you can still contract the virus, your immune system will just be able to fight it off this time and prevent you from getting sick.

Likewise, once you are vaccinated, while you will be 90-95% less likely to develop COVID symptoms, that doesn't mean that you won't be a carrier of the virus and not able to spread it to others. The CDC still recommends that you continue to wear a mask after getting both doses of the vaccine for that exact reason.

Quarantine them for 15 days minimum. Make them write a letter of apology for breaking protocol and how it ties into their inherent white privilege that society bestows on them.

"If one person doesn’t wear a mask, it could create a domino effect that leads someone else to relax their practice, and another and another. They may not know you had the virus less than six months ago, and it could result in other people being infected. Masks also help to act as a deterrent against touching your face, and remind people that the pandemic isn’t over. (It’s also flu season.)"

Not living in fear means your college degree is from Trump University now? Wow your intelligence is baffling. Just keep living in fear while thinking a little mask that Fauci says doesn't really protect you anyways is going to save you from anything
