Got to wonder about the whole "fair shake" that he hasn't gotten yet.

If I was the owner, i'd be hard pressed to fire the GM who has 3 straight calder trophy finalists.

Not all GM's will be as good at drafting as Benning but they might be better at other areas.

They might be worse in all areas as well.

Get him some help then.

Benning's taken this team as far as he can, he's not a 'builder', he's best at the draft. Need someone who can take the pieces he's put together and build on them. Might as well hire an experienced coach too

Best solution: move Benning to full time president in charge of scouting, draft, liaison with FA, and general direction of team. Bring in GM to deal with trades, hires, signings, etc.

Benning has never played well with others it seems. I think if you want something different, just bring in someone different. Teams drafted well. Got a good start to the future, as long as we don't get another Gillis.

Yeah just from World Juniors this season, Raymond and Holtz in there draft plus 1 seasons looked good but more like Boeser types, not Petey's.

Not something i'd pick top 5 if they was better out there.

Robinson also had Stutzle at 7th or something.
