Yzerman did it with Drouin. He eventually traded him for Sergachev. It worked out well for Tampa.

If he were to go to Philly - they should ask for Ghost (money and reclamation project with MAJOR UPSIDE) plus a premium prospect AND a first round pick.

i don't think anyone is acquiring him without giving up a significant roster piece in the same age range as PLD.

I'm a Devils fan, and I don't think Zacha, Butcher, and draft picks are good enough at all. If I was CBJ, the asking price starts with Hischier. Why would CBJ trade their best forward for essentially a bag of pucks? I'm not saying Zacha and Butcher are terrible, but Zacha isn't Top-6 talent and Butcher isn't Top-4 D.

If I were CBJ, I would circle back to the Rangers and see if they can get Kakko. I'd also see if the Kings would be willing to move Byfield or Turcotte for PLD.

I agree with your thinking. Hischier would be the piece here, and it won't even be enough. However I can't see this happening now that he's is hurt.

If you were Kekalainen, would you rather want a young prospect like Cozens or Turcotte or a proven first line center like Zibanejad?

I actually think Columbus would be a very good team once they get rid of players who doesn't want to be there. Korpisalo looks really sharp. Domi and Foudy look great too. Koivu has not even played yet, will be terrific 3C/4C.

Sure they could offer Mantha as the main piece. Problem is Jarmo will want a young top 6 center who can play now. Detroit doesn't have that. Veleno isn't ready. Dubois is an upgrade on Larkin talent wise. But it only would make Detroit slightly better.

Yzerman isn't going to trade Larkin who he just named Captain for a suck who quits when he doesn't get his own way. I agree with the poster above. It's Rangers or Habs if he is traded. But Jarmo doesn't strike me as a guy who'll knuckle under for a lowball trade.
