TSN just said between periods, Laine>Dubois.
Makes sense, Laine out and Dubois would have to quarantine. |

As a Habs fan I agree top 5 in the league is ambitious, but to be fair he did say within 2 years, not right now. - apex123
Right on!
We need to consider development. Hall won a MVP, but how does Hall compare theough his rookie season. Mathews can score in bunches, but what about the defensive side of the puck?
What do you prefer 55 goals, 90 points with a + 5. Or 30 goals, 70 points with a plus 25.
Hows Toronto and Edmonton doing in the playoffs with all their firepower? There’s two sides to the puck and it looks like Suzuki may end up with a far superior plus/minus than four of those players in the top five! So in two years watch who is playing more complete hockey! |

Been hearing Laine on the out from WPG for what seems like a decade at this point.
What makes the Jets think PLD would play with any kind of effort up in that poop-hole? And Laine wants out of the Peg... But would be happy in Columbus with Tortilla?
What a horrible trade for everyone involved if truge, hugh. |

Firstly, Winnipeg is cold but it is far from a poop hole. Secondly Dubois’ dad is a coach for their minor league team so he has family there and would likely put in effort. |

Sorry, but I can't believe you're actually doubling down on the 'top 5' prediction.
McDavid, Draistail, Eichel, Matthews, McKinnon, (could stop right there, but add -Barzal, Aho, Point, Lafreniere), are all just going to get better in the next 2 years.
Then there's Crosby, Couturier, Barkov, Scheifele, Kucherov, Kane, Panarin and Malkin that will still likely be performing at a high level in 2 years time. And that's just forwards.
I agree that Suzuki is good and I wouldn't include him in a trade for PLD, but I think the expectations need to be dialled back a bit. |

Monahan for PLD let's go - Squilliam
You would need to add a 1st and a prospect, at least.
Monahan and Gaudreau for PLD would work - We all know Jonny hockey is going to Philly after his contract is up and Columbus loves thinking players are going to sign with them long-term. Win-win for both teams. |

Seems like Winnipeg might be offering Laine and hes requested a trade also. I feel like Winnipeg may be the best fit as both players want to be traded |

No way, PLD is a good player but so is Suzuki (similar stats) ... and Suzuki is younger and doesn't cost a fortune right now.
Makes no sense at all for Bergy ... I just don't see Bergy dismantling the team, which is doing well right now, to fit PLD under the cap.
I could see Danault being available (with other pieces) but I don't think Colombus would go for it (and I wouldn't blame them either).
PLD is not going to Montreal ... book it. |

Suzuki: $863,333 (2020-21, 2021-22)

71 13 28 41
PLD: $5,000,000 (2020-21, 2021-22)

70 18 31 49
Is PLD's higher cap hit worth it? ... I don't think so. |
