I don't speak French but I do speak English:

yawl
/yôl/
Learn to pronounce
noun
a two-masted fore-and-aft-rigged sailboat with the mizzenmast stepped far aft so that the mizzen boom overhangs the stern.
HISTORICAL
a ship's jolly boat with four or six oars.

How's Detroit? Bobby Ryan still your leading scorer?

Habs offered Danault 6 years @ 5M. He turned it down. (According to Brunet)

Habs were even willing to add a little money but never got a counter offer from Danault.

Yeah, he's in greedy mode.

haha

a pal told me that Danault turned down 5 mil x 6 years recently as today...? Anyone else see that?

i get Julien said he had a bad game, but have you even seen him get only 5 mins over 2 periods on other days he had a bad game?

Maybe its mtls depth at center, but maybe they dont want him injured in a game that couldve gone bad, and did.

perhaps both camps aren't really far apart but it does sound like he's in greedy mode... surprising considering the fiancial circumstances, I doubt Danault has that much leverage.

oh I agree, it would be pretty dumb to base your opinion on his performance last night when you consider how consistent that guy has been

6X5M is perfect for him.

If the kids keep playing well, hell if Poehling would have a good start in the AHL.

He might end up with nothing on the table.

And while saying that, I really appreciate Phil and what he brings to the table.

Overpaying him long term makes no sense.

How much does he want?

My guess is he was aiming at, at least, 6M.

Which is too much for him.

Hopefully he comes to reason and signs for 5.

Not surprised by those numbers, they seem fair, been saying for a while that pageau is the right comparable.

Since he’s happy keeping his wingers thanks to the arrival of the new guys, maybe he’ll change his mind money wise if a) the season goes well enough and b) someone makes him realize that there isnt that much money out there because yeah flat cap and pandemic
