highly doubtful for sure. the thought passed as interesting happenstance. youd have to expect that if the deal WERE being discussed, Phil knows about it, and would have a contract signed minutes after the trade happened, and it would involve a bit more high end prospects from MTL.

One side has a disgruntled player, lowers a bit of value;
mtl, a pending UFA, lowers mtl bargaining a touch. That said, the way the team is playing, Danault may reconsider holding out for the extra $$ at the idea of not being apart of this success ( albeit early).
