Dude, I’d be perfectly content NOT seeing those 3 in the line-up at all. I really think seeing the younger kids is the way to go. Of course I’m not a professional coach.....Can a brother get a COACH?!?!? Coaching’s only part of the problem, the other part (talent) needs to be weeded out over time....but guys can still play to spite the odds....

Blashill just needs to keep it simple. I realize he's auditioning for his next Head coaching job (no other NHL team will ever hire him) but he needs to stop pretending he's Bowman or Babcock and put the Red Wings first.

That stupid coach's challenge he called last game perfectly illustrates how much of a handicap Blashill truly is. We all knew that goal Columbus scored had zero chance of being disallowed. Yet he still did it and made his team shorthanded.

Luckily the team killed it off and went on to win thanks to a very lucky bounce. How many times do we get caught with horrible line changes which leads to scoring opportunities or goals against?

Then he'll throw his own players under the bus to save his own ass for mistakes HE made. This Red Wings team really does have to win in spite of Jeff Blashill.

If Jimmy Howard was starting tonight I could see Detroit giving up 9. But Greiss can actually stop a beach ball. I'll say Hawks win 3-1. We'll get our token road goal and give up an empty net goal.

I just worry about the Red Wings history of making bad goalies look like Terry Sawchuk. I could see us losing both games. I hope I'm wrong. But the Hawks have the desperation factor. They haven't won yet. So you know they'll want to shove it up Detroit's a$$. Wings might be a little too full of themselves.

We've seen this happen during Blashill's tenure. Lose 9 win 1 and the team acts like they won the Stanley Cup. I see a lazy and uninspired game from Detroit tonight while we make Chicago look like the '85 Oilers.

Sorry. I've seen this too many times from this mentally weak Red Wings team. Vegas has the Hawks favoured for a reason. They're not buying Detroit's 2-2 record either. I know this isn't what anyone wants to hear but this Detroit team has fooled me way too many times.

I need to see more to start believing in this team. I was excited for the 2 wins but I think I saw what I wanted to see. But each time I'm optimistic about this Red Wings team they proceed to $hit the bed and remind me once again they're the worst team in the NHL.

I REALLY REALLY hope I'm wrong about everything I just said. Unfortunately I know I'm not. Greiss deserves some goal support. He's been great and doesn't deserve to be 0-2. Bobby Ryan has been great too. But I'm still expecting for Detroit to be swept this weekend.

I think this time, it’s the opposite. Two good goalies are carrying the mail for this team while they figure it out. There isn’t a Lidstrom on the back end or Z and Pav playing 200 feet. Our goalies are facing real high volume and having to cover bad decision making.

It’s a stupid amount of fun. I’m only in my second season, but already it’s easily amongst my favourite hobbies.

The learning curve depends on the sort of league you join, but isn’t too bad.

First period summary is up

First period - the up and down was borderline nauseating. Detroit had some good shifts down low, but a stupid penalty by Filppula put Hawks on their power play (which I advised they avoid). Greiss had to bail out Larkin (again) and has been solid. Chicago’s young goalie looks good in the first as well. Detroit was completely out of sync on passing. I’m less and less a fan of those drop passes right now. I found out that there have been inconsistencies in what pucks everyone is playing. It’s definitely bouncing around tonight, for sure through the first 10 minutes. I also realize that this is Detroit’s first away game, and they look bad on line changes. They flew in today per protocol, so some stiffness. The second period has to be much stronger for them to get it going.

Second period - give Chicago full marks. They are clearly hungry to turn things around. Kane is, possibly, one of the top 3 greatest American players in history. He still wants to win with and for the Blackhawks. The goalie tonight is on his game, Detroit has fired 22 shots and it’s a goose egg. Greiss, even allowing 2, has had to bail Detroit out far too much. Glendening is all heart. Beat an icing call, killing it in the faceoff dot. We need more of that from more guys. I’m really missing Zadina tonight. That kid stirs the drink. When Fabbri went down, Ras stepped in and it was clear the wingers are driving that 2nd line. Losing Zadina is a huge eye opener. His play has been strong and inspired. I’m completely prepared to be very, very wrong about tonight’s prediction. Detroit isn’t doing what they need to do and Chicago is playing with pride and purpose.
