Laine will be gone from CLB sooner than later. Torts has a new whipping boy!!
- ChicagoHope

Yea that's going to be interesting.

Laine is a talented player that's a bit of a free spirit and doesn't always bring the effort every game. When he is wants to and is on he's fun to watch but, he does disappear for games at a time.

I may catch some CBJ games just to see how this may play out.

Laine and Rosy to Columbus for the whiner.

A trade involving 3 players who requested a trade and who will likely requests trades when their current contracts are up.

Thanks, BGK.

Even when I was just a reader of the blog, I've always jotted down notes on players during games so it's easy and fun to share them in blog form.

I try to share a lot of little tidbits during game previews and recaps rather than focus on one topic, that way there's something for everyone while keeping y'all informed of the goings-on with the Hawks and Hogs.

Great stuff Theo!!!
Keep up the great work!

So I am trying to muddle through learning this new outlet for the DraftSite.com stuff on Lines, and moving players around and...I laughed to myself....

There is a player in the USNDTeam program who is Arizona-born and I think gets selected in the 4th / 5th round names Redmond Savage, but goes by

Red Savage

Imagine if the hawks take him, is that just more indigenous banter with the pick, ha!

Thanks wiz. There have been some real doozy names over the years. Some names are so unique you never forget.

Wacey Rabbit was an NHL draft choice. Rollie Fingers was an All Star long tenured baseball player. The Pittsburgh Pirates currently have a pitcher whose name phonetically is almost exactly "never doubt it " He has a great name for a hockey goal scorer.[/img]

I’m partial to Christian Djoos.

Unless he’s a Messianic Jew, he should pick one or the other....

I'm watching the Columbus/Tampa Bay game via the Columbus feed. To listen to the announcers you'd think the Jackets are the best team ever. I know announcers are partial to the home team but these guys are hilarious.

Overly partial announcers can be very funny.

A few years back they used to replay English soccer matches and instead of the normal announcers they’d take one diehard super-fan from each team and allow them to call the game together(recorded live). The result was always hilarious cuz they didn’t hold back and were allowed to say whatever.

Kinda wish they’d give it a try with the NHL. I’d definitely tune in to that broadcast over Foley and Olczyk.

Mine too. I’d put Soda on a line with Shaw and Walmart. Soderberg can play wing on that line...know he plays wing but not sure if he has a preference.

Keep Hagel in with Kampf and Carpenter.

- HawkintheD

Soderberg is a center and that is why they signed him. That is where he has played most of his career. I have a feeling he is gonna slot between Kane and Dinky. Suter may move to wing and I think it leaves Hagel being the odd man out.

JC likes his try hard vets.

I would sit Suter and plug Soderberg in for him. I think Suter needs to sit and watch a game or 2. Still a big jump from the Swiss league to centering Kane and ADB
.

- LAHawk

I wouldn't. He's been fine. The guy I would sit is Janmark but Jc won't. The guy has been next to useless and even on his ENG, he flubbed the shot.

I have to agree, he was supposedly brought in to help the pk. Unfortunately he's not helping.

Supposedly they are rewarding minutes based on play. Hagel on his own provided sustained pressure 1 of the 3 times they did it while 5 on 5. I hope not either. Maybe they'll give veterans a night here and there since it looks like they'll be playing 3 to 4 games a week.

Pretty sure they aren't sitting Kurashev since he's helping drive their best possession line.

If he is committed to the rebuild hopefully Janmark sits. Kurashev and Hagel in my opinion have done more than Janmark. Hawks depth improves when Soderberg starts to play, so there’s a silver lining!!

Probably going to be a rotation. I believe the older guys were signed to flip, so they'll still be playing. Could be wrong, it did happen once....in the last hour....

Part of the rebuild might be flipping old guys for picks. If they play well enough. But they have play to trade.

To me it means most of the trades will be before the deadline, especially with quarantine rules in effect.
