Nope - Danault's a 27 y.o. going into UFA; Caufield was drafted by Montreal, but has not signed a contract. He could play out is time at Wisconsin then go FA. Kulak's a 3rd pairing D.

So turns out PLD got a pretty big haul. Habs fans seemed pretty certain his value was severely diminished after that one bad shift

PLD to MTL was never going to happen. MTL did not want to part with KK or Suzuki I understand not wanting to part with them, but you are not getting PLD for Danault and scraps either.

A trade call is being set up between the Winnipeg Jets and Columbus Blue Jackets to complete trade sending Laine and Roslovic to Columbus for Pierre Luc Dubois. A draft pick to the Jets May also be included.

If that's the actual pieces moving,then the trade would already be done because cbj comes out ahead on that deal for sure,and I dont believe they will come out ahead trading him.


I don't think the Jackets come out ahead on this deal. Laine is the more dynamic scorer/player, when he wants to be, but in 2 years can go UFA, and Roslovic might cap out at 2C - but more likely fits at 3C. If Laine signs at least a 4 year extension now, then I would say we win that deal.
I read that a deal is imminent but there are some things to resolve. An extension might be what needs to be resolved ! I sure hope Jarmo doesn't jump into that UFA-type situation again after losing Panarin in that manner.
