Easily one of, yes. THE best? Probably not. It’s
Possible. Usually the best line in hockey during any given season does not remain so the year after. - Rexypoo
Easily one of the best lines in hockey with Domi as the C?
What exactly has Domi done to be placed on such a pedestal?

What a game by the Jets tonight!!!
This game just increased my excitement for Dubois, if this play by Stastny continues and seeing as to how dominant Ehlers and Cropp looked this team is going to be deadly to play against. I am predicting this now:
Winnipeg Jets 2021 Stanley Cup Champions |

Some takeaways for tonight's game.
Helle obviously had an off game.
Wheeler is still one of the league's top passers and still a very good player.
Stastny is by no means washed up. Several posters on this board have claimed otherwise.
The Connor-Scheif - Wheeler top line is going to be together all season. The chemistry is superb and I regard them as a top-five line in the NHL.
Vesalainen made an early mistake or two on his first two shifts. Early jitters but otherwise he was very strong tonight. He's not Laine but in another year or two he could be a force. Its too bad that there is not much room for him on the roster just yet and he will have to be rotated in and out with injuries.
Ottawa's heart and soul are clearly Tkachuk and Nick Paul. That being said the Canucks and Ottawa are the CDN division's doormats.
Kyle Connor is the NHL points leader and reaching for superstar status.
I repeat what I posted earlier that these will be the base Jets lines this year with some rotation on the fourth line:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Ehlers-Dubois- Statsny
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Perrault-Harkins-Lewis |

Kind of boring but I agree 100% with all of this. Probably Thompson in, and ???
out when Thompson is healthy but by that time we will have other injuries. Depth!
I think with every passing game that Logan (Lord) Stanley cements his position on the Jets blue-line. He is exactly what the Doctor ordered. May force a decision this spring when Seattle picks. May have to give up our 3rd round pick from Columbus to not take Stanley.
Not sure the minutes Vesalainen played but he appears to now be an NHL player. Was impressed with minutes he did play. He needs to bide his time and his turn will come with the Jets.
Exciting times to be a Jet fan with PLD soon to be arriving. Size, skill and grit! Team is now a contender!

Jets also still might have enough cap room to get a rental on D at the trade deadline if needed. Arizona and Detriot practically have their entire defense as UFA's ....guys like Mark Staal, Alex Elder, Dougie Hamilton, Gologoski , Hjalmarsson to name just a few fo many . Its hard not to beleive the Jets won't be a contender.
I know I get knocked for the positive outlook I have for this team for the near future but I don't think I was wrong in saying so. During the off-season, just about everyone on here was negative and thought the Jets would not even make the playoffs. I doubt they think the same now. |

Rexypoo, you might be right about Copp. After seeing how he and Ehlers tore up the offensive zone last night, I am convinced that they should not be separated. I am really looking forward to Dubois centring those two.
Also this idea of Lowry as a third line Center is hilarious. It appears that many Jets fans have forgotten that in 2017-18, this team enjoyed the most success when he was the fourth line Center.
Lastly, this franchise finally did the bold move I was praying it would. As a fan I feel more clear about the direction it’s taking.
Go Jets Go!!! |

He’s a very high level playmaker. Laine and mostly Bjorkstrand make it elite |

In reality we should be thanking David Poile for Stanley being inserted into the line-up. We all know how much Maurice loves his veterans and if Sbisa was still here, Stanley most likely would still be sitting in the press box.
Thank you David for taking Sbisa!

The only one of the 3 that has actually proven any elite talent at the NHL level is Laine - the new guy.
Your optimism is commendable, but at this point misplaced.
Bjorkstrands seasons so far are 40 / 36 / 36. That in no way screams 1st line status, let alone "one of the best lines in hockey". |

Please explain your comment. On the surface, it seems absurd. - bennythehat
It's completely absurd !
Why would Columbus go and trade for Laine, a guy who was unhappy in Winnipeg because he thought he deserved to be on the top line ? There is no way Torts is going to throw him on a second line on Columbus. Most likely Laine will be paired with Jenner and Texier, OR as an outside chance with Foligno and Domi
Bjorkstrand is a RW and will likely get displaced somewhat. It might not be for a couple of games until Laine learns the Torts system but I don't consider Domi to be centering the top line in Columbus . I also think Bjorkstand's production will drop substantially once Laine arrives. The bottom line though is Bjorkstand won't be playing with Laine. |

To me, Texier is now the "go to" guy in Columbus. Remember the name. Maybe Laine plays with him? |

Pretty bold prediction after only 5 games played.
You won against Ottawa 3 times ... plan the parade!
PS: the Jets are a good team but I'd wait until they play better teams (ie: Tampa, Vegas, etc) before making such a prediction. |

This is the weakest division that the Jets have played in since their days in the Southeast division.
I agree with you that we should be planning the parade. Would you like to help me plan a route? I could use the help. |

I am in love with this Ehlers-Copp pairing. Both guys are just so tenacious on the puck. Holy smokes, its got me thinking that Ehlers will score 30 this year. |

Every part of Bjorkstrand’s game is elite. Point totals don’t prove anything. It’s all of the rest that matters, and Bjorkstrand has all of it.

My assertion that the line I listed would dominate is not in any way altered or affected by coaching mistakes.
Put the 3 together, great success. That’s all that matters. |

I think it's funny when someone references point totals but don't mention if the player missed a lot of games in a season, last season Bjorkstrand scored at a 60 point season pace, that's pretty good and he's just shy of a ppg pace so far this season.
Fun fact about Bjorkstrand, he was taken in the same draft as Petan and played on Portland with Petan, the Jets took Morrissey in the first round that year and then took Petan, Comrie and Jimmy Lodge ahead of where the Jackets took Bjorkstrand. How do you miss Bjorkstrand if you're scouting Petan?!.. |
