That's a fantastic top 6 forward group the Jet have.
But what does this mean for the Blue Jackets' Center situation? |

Torts and Laine should be great, I wonder if he'll make it past the trade deadline. |

Why would Dubois put any more effort into playing in Winnipeg than Colombus when he really wants to be in Montreal or the Big (cr)Apple ?

Winnipeg wins the trade. Kekalainen might send Laine somewhere else to acquire a center back. |

There was "chatter" that there was more going on behind the scenes in Columbus, and it wassn't just that he didnt like playing in a small market. |

The winner here is the players getting traded...... |

Another winner is the Habs, for staying away from this disaster. |

Although Dubois doesn't score like Laine, he's the big body centre that every team is looking for. He showed what he could do against the Leafs during last seasons play in, or play out in the Leafs case |

I think both teams lost this trade to be honest. |

Don't really think you can declare a winner until other factors are played out. In a vacuum, I think CBJ wins. But if Laine can't stand torts or visa versa and doesn't sign with them long-term, the Jets basically got PLD and a 3rd for Roslovic (assuming CBJ doesn't trade away Laine for other assets) |

Roslivic got a 2x$1.9AAv deal
Winny retained salary on Laine.....but the trick is what is Laine willing to re-sign for! |

As much of a beating that he takes here, didn't EK predict this trade when they both signed?
Looks like a win-win trade here to my GM eyes.
I wish either of those players were to end up in Philly to solidify the young core but I don't think Ghost plus picks plus a premium prospect is the same level of value. Patrick L is one hell of a player who needs a change of scenery. Same with PLD. |

I think Winnipeg wins the trade right now as well as the Canadian division, that's a murders row of centers there to face.wow!
I think cbj wins after they trade laine for another package of players. |

Jets may be the winner, as PLD has a father in the Moose org. So there is that. Laine wanted out, dropping hints thru his agent. So both players get their wish. Roslovic gets more playing time at centre. Up to Torts to keep them on the ice for now. Maurice may be just what PLD needs. To bad the Jets couldn't score a higher pick.

Dubois is a good young Center....Laine is a stud winger....even up I still think Columbus wins....throw in Roslovic and it’s a one sided deal....no wonder Winnipeg doesn’t make many deals. |

Depends, Does CBJ extend Laine and for how much? IMO opinion that will be the deciding factor.
I think that 3rd should of been a 2nd rnd pick but .... - dmnted
Laine is an RFA...so even if they don’t extend him, the return will be more then what they gave up.
