Not that I disagree that Columbus won the trade, but I don't think the center he will have in Columbus will be much of an improvement then winnipeg. Also Torts spreads his time around more the Maurice. He'll get more time on the #1 PP, but I don't think he'll get more overall ice time. - r8edr
Playing with someone like Domi is an upgrade on Stastny at this stage of his career. Don't underestimate the impact of a group of d-men that can actually move the puck. As I said, Laine will thrive. |

lol winterpeg got hosed
Don't think so. If Jarmo made that trade with no assurance of a Laine extension then CBJ got hosed. Gave up Dubois + 3rd rnder for Roslovic - and that's assuming Roslovic stays in Columbus.
I'm a Jacket fan and don't like that deal . - birdie03
Laine is a 22 year old RFA. He has to re-sign to play....... |

They get more first line scoring, but they also have a major issue down the middle now. |

What we really need to know is: after this trade does Ek still think Columbus will win the division? |

Why would Dubois put any more effort into playing in Winnipeg than Colombus when he really wants to be in Montreal or the Big (cr)Apple ?
- ThatDarnCat
Nope, wanted to be with Dad in Winterpeg. |

Columbus is still a new hockey market. They’re still learning our game |

There was "chatter" that there was more going on behind the scenes in Columbus, and it wassn't just that he didnt like playing in a small market. - david22
Yes, he’s wanted out of Columbus fir more than a year. He will resign in Winterpeg
Dads a coach fir Winterpeg |

So much for Dubois wanting a ‘’bigger stage’’ - Alexzanki
Winterpeg fir hockey a 1000 times bigger than Columbus |

The real question is; how does train wreck Torts manage to get a job year after year. The guy has to be the worst human being in hockey |

Another winner is the Habs, for staying away from this disaster. - Frozendisc
Absolutely love Suzuki but 6’3” playing for Torts, Torts makes the 80’s oilers not score |

They had that with Dubois though considering he wasnt trying. They have Domi as 1C and Roslovic is a C as well. They should be fine. Torts is a good coach. Even though his team can lack skill, he gets them to compete a lot harder than most other teams do which is why they were such a good team last season despite the lack of star power |

Cause he is a great coach and a Stanley Cup winning coach,
and he demands hard work from his players, which any coach should do.

EK: Winnipeg gets Dubois for 4 years.
Laine isn't a UFA for 3 years. Is one year that such a big concern? |

I think both teams lost this trade to be honest. - IceColdBeer
Says the team that drafted Nylander that couldn’t skate and no hockey IQ. Casey Middlestadt who is lazy beyond belief. Ruining the career of Dahlin. |

Fantastic deal for the Jets.
Jets gets 1C and a 3rd round pick (likely a fringe player)
CBJ gets is a 2R and a 4C.
What makes this worse for CBJ is Laine will likely struggle under Torts. I suspect Laine will be benched before his 1st shift.
If the Jets can improve the D they may find a realistic shot at making the playoffs in the North division. - Jackie Daytona
Laine is a first line RW in real life. Definitely not a 2R 🤦🏻♂️ |

Laine wont survive under torts.
Ugly trade for pld
Winnipeg is the Columbus of Canada - SENS-sational
PLD is the second line Centre. Stasney moves to third. Most teams could dream of those 3 centres |

Cause PLD is a whiny baby whose feelings were hurt when he was asked to compete harder

Habs won this trade...Laine for Dubois?...Winnipeg got screwed...and so did CBJ because Laine will hate Tortorella and we will see this scenario play out again.... - Hockey Pucker
Habs? WTF? I love Suzuki and I’m not a Habs fan but PLD 6’3” skates plays D and now he can be a bit more offensive away from Torts the O killer |
