Its believed that its very hard to trade for a young #1 center as successful teams are strong up the middle. Now the Jets have one of the best group of centers in the league. Having said that I still think that Laine was the best player in the trade. The big question is who will be Laine's center on a now very weak at the center position Columbus team?

1) 0.75/game? Really? which years are you leaving out?
Up to 2015-2016 he had 385 pts in 613 games = 0.63
Up to 2016-2017 he had 432 pts in 672 games = 0.64

How the heck are your fact checks getting 0.75?

2) I'm not a Clbs fan, so I have no horse in this race

Easy- start counting at 2012 and not 2007 and note the drop when he had to play with Laine.

Wait a minute...weren’t you telling everyone yesterday to prepare for disappointment? Because PLD was such a tarnished asset, and Jarmo would have to settle for pennies on the dollar?

Seems like he did well. Laine + Roslovic + salary retained? Yowza

Kinda sorta feels like you were way off in your assessment, huh?

Kooleus is a Canucks fan Axel.

great trade for both teams.... I think Dubois will be the best player in the trade though...

If pro sports weren't rigged, you'd think the Peg would be a favorite to make the playoffs now... and make some noise... two legit no.1 centers and a 2/3 in the 3 slot...

I don't know who won, but I can tell you who lost... Laine lost. Now he's going to have to put up with Torts. One whiner for another whiner.

Another early goal by Suzuki tonight. Let's trade him for a whiner who makes $4M more and throw in a 1st. Good idea right?

Ahhhhh, a Canucks fan! I was wondering why you were so salty

You made a really dumb prediction, and were immediately proven wrong. And your Canucks are getting thumped again

Tough couple of days!

Jackets won.

Dubois value overhyped because of his Toronto series.

- Trilla

Exactly, how many times have we seen players have a great playoff. Only to turn around and be horrible the season(s) after. Guys like Bickel, Leino, Boyes, etc, the list goes on and on.

The big factor for me in all of this is that Laine wanted and kept preforming and giving his all. Mean while Dubois quit outright.

Someone who thinks 61 points high career Left Wing/Center who can't win faceoffs
is a better player than Laine deserves no more replies regarding anything hockey.

I’m good if I don’t hear from you. LOL. 22 y/o playing Torts tough D probably difficult for some to understand. I’m good. Learn grasshopper. Centre always >winger...

Do you watch hockey? PLD not the best player in the deal. Laine is a 30-40 goal scorer. Laine's stats speak for themselves. PLD is not going to improve because Torts is not the coach. He's a young player he is going to improve but he is not on the same level as Laine. You blame Torts for PLD what about Maurice for Laine? Maurice had Laine on the 4th line for lengthy stints

Dubois proved to the world the other night why he is in Tort's doghouse. He coasts and he did not compete.

- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Yeah PLD is gonna be that guy. Buddy this has been going on for a long time in Columbus. It’s been nasty, Columbus team does not come out smelling like roses. PLD couldn’t get out fast enough. He will be #2 behind Scheiffle, with Stastny, n Lowery the 4th Centre. That’s a great top 4!

So you're gonna cherry-pick 4 or 5 years of his career.
And the 30-40 goal scorer is the reason the PPG of a C dropped from 0.75 (not 1.0)

Got it.

Yes that’s how it was but should add that it’s a 30 to 40 goal score who needs to play with a babysitter

Laine to the Blues for Hoffman. After the season Bozak contract is through and we can pay the 10 Million for Laine.
Then hopefully the cap can go back up with fans in attendance at full capacity

This is truly a disgrace with Dubois. This is worse than the Tavares debacle. Dubois signs a 2 year contract with the Jackets and then demands a trade. After this contract is over with nobody should sign him. What is to stop him from doing it again.

Depending on how Suzuki, KK and Danault are at in 4 years, I wouldn't be surprise if Dubois signs in Mtl when he becomes UFA. For now, trading for him would've made no sense for the Habs, IMO.

I thought Dubois would've been a great fit with the Rangers, though.

Lol. The canucks stink as do the oilers. They are looking ok but they’ve played against pretty weak competition.
