This is truly a disgrace with Dubois. This is worse than the Tavares debacle. Dubois signs a 2 year contract with the Jackets and then demands a trade. After this contract is over with nobody should sign him. What is to stop him from doing it again.

Laine might thrive under Torts.....his next contract actually depends on it.

What opportunity? Habs are clicking as a unit right now without adding the Golden Calves of worship.

I am mixed about the trade. Jets got a heck of a player for Laine, and I'm happier with that than him being traded for parts, picks, prospects . . . but Laine is the more elite player than Dubois, and the Jets included Roslovic, etc. so should have gotten back more methinks. Listening to Kekelainen interviews sort of "rub it in" how he traded up (3rd overall to 2nd) and how he got the players he wanted stings somewhat!

Happier the Jets forward depth is more spread out. Depth and skill (and size) down the middle is impressive, top 5 in the league IMO.

I think the deal is funny . . . Dubois' dad likely has some new job security. He's not going anywhere so long as the Jets push to extend PLD beyond the next 2 years. On the opposite end, you have to think Torts job security is on the line. Can't imagine Columbus management or ownership wants to see another elite player who excites, sells tickets, jerseys, walk out the door.

the team who gets the best player won the trade. So Columbus won that one IMO.
