Sometimes you need a small band aid to close the wound a bit. Sven can score and LE can play defensively. I don't want it either I'm just saying expect it. - LordHumungous
I hope they get sent to Utica and give the ice time to let players develop. Hoglander has two goals in 7 games that is not horrible for a rookie.

The team clearly needs to rid itself of some of their garbage before they can move forward. IMO until the terrible contracts are cleaned up, the team will continue to regress. - Pacificgem
100%. Let Green play around with the lineup and get through the season with what he's got.

I don't agree.
What does JV want to be? What has he shown or demonstrated he can be?
TG has had him in Utica, has had one on one video sessions with him to teach him, has had him play up and down the line up..
It's not like JV is a great goal scorer and he's planting him on the third line. Or that he's a great defensive player and he's only playing him in offensive situations.
JV just doesn't really do anything super well. And it's hard to maximize his skill set when he himself doesn't seem to want to use it. - NewYorkNuck
Other teams have inquired about Jake because they feel they can get more out of him. TG is a mediocre coach. He has so far failed to create a team game with these players after 3 years at the helm. |

If the Canucks were going to bring anyone back it was Tanev first for me. - manvanfan
They did the right thing by letting those guys guys go, in terms of cleaning up the near future and getting a better hold on their cap situation. Benning put himself in a situation where he couldn’t commit long term to those guys. Short term they could’ve made the numbers work, but long term they needed to hold on spending. |

disagree the pieces are there just need to round it out. Regression isn't an option at this point I guarantee Aquilini aint thinking that lol
Most teams have bad contracts and can find their way through slumps. Everytime a teams sputters blaming the bad contracts is just an easy way out.
If we are blaming contracts then the club would not have moved up in the standings 5 seasons in a row lol |

And JB said re-signing him is a priority. That tells me they both need to go. |

This is Green's line up though IMO. Other than having an all-star line up. Everybody has a place in the team. He's got his penalty killers and he's got his righty lefty D's.
He's kept players in or out for the fact that they play a role or don't for someone else but for some reason it's not working. |

Got to find a way to get something for some of the expiring contracts. If not, he's got to find some real hits in his drafting. At this point, you might have one or two more players that impact the team in the next 2-3 years. |

Well obviously, he's not going to say, "TG job is on the line this year"
Many GM's have stood behind coaches and canned them a week later. |

Sure there’s good pieces there but the ability to make moves and spend is lost because the Canucks have so much money tied up in substandard players. That’s the issue. His hands are tied by his own doing.

I was ok bringing Marky back but no way at 6X6. I think Benning offered him 4X5.5 and Marky and his agent said no. So he can (frank) off. Sucks invested 5+ years in him and gave him his second chance and he left for the extra 500K. Bye.
Tanev I could care less. Time to move on.
Toffoli played 14 games and what Miller didn't say is that they won in the PO's when TT was hurt. So why would JB bring him back? makes no sense. - LordHumungous
Long term signings have bit us in the ass. Loui , Beagle ,Myers , and Roussel . Why the hell would we want three more or even one more.
Canucks have some kids that are ready to play , don't lock them out by signing players that are slightly above avererage long term.
Hoglander OJ Podkolzen and maybe Chatfield look ready to take a spot so I am glad they did not sign anyone for more than two years.

Stop (frank)ing agreeing with me all the time, it's getting weird.
Green isn't the worst coach in the league, that's for sure. We have seen what it could be like with WD. He's just a coach like sometimes you have with a goalie, he's good but is he going to win you a cup, probably not so it might be time to look at someone else. |

There’s only a few guys who have value, Pearson being one of them. Roussel, Beagle and Sutter are all terrible at hockey and Baertschi’s been on waivers, no one wanted him for free. |

I don't believe it was a priority at all otherwise it would have been done already.
We know Jim is not going to say publicly it is his last year.
