I’ve heard plenty of rumours and rumblings from people with better connections to the organization than me over the past 48 hours.
It’s making me think that this isn’t just smoke, there may be fire. - manvanfan
Big sense of urgency on tonight's game.

There's an article on The Province about it. Basically their deals will get done at the same time, maybe gives the agent/players more leverage.
However, unless they turn their seasons around, they'll be getting a much shorter bridge deal. - NewYorkNuck
I don’t buy it. I don’t think these 6 or whatever games are indicative of their place in the league or that it will have any impact on their next contract. They may agree to a bridge deal - in fact, I think this will be the what players will want until economic stability is returned. But the team would benefit more by locking them both up to max 8 year deals because in a few years their salary will be a bargain. |

I actually think a lot of fans in Vancouver would love to see Ray as GM and Drance as head coach. I think if you ran a poll for that it would be about 40% in favor. - VANTEL
Great sound bites, perhaps...but |

TBH with this new alliance with the agent as soon as PLD is available to play in WPG I would be inquiring about a swap.

I think if they come in at the 7 mil mark or a tad lower everything should be fine . If Petey wants 8 or 9 I would ask him how he would like Winnipeg. - VANTEL
Holy fuk You would get fired as a GM if you let your franchise player walk over $2 mil |

Two weeks? By my count it's more like 5-6 years minus a little stretch during Covid times |

Really? Evidence says otherwise...
Gillis 2008-2014
Benning 2014-
Lots of media froth though. |

The team has improved in the standings three years in a row so sure , fire the GM and bring in anybody
- VANTEL
I'm just teasing, I don't think JB should be fired for the slow start. I do think it's a distressing sign for the teams chances this year, but I don't think firing the GM or coach solves the issues present. |

This year was going to be a really fuked up year anyways. So many things come into factor from daily habits and training , practice , travel , coaching to a global pandemic that has already taken your leading scorer out of your lineup for 3 of 7 games.
I am sure Petey JTM and Pearson will probably score more than one goal combined in the next 7 games. I would even be willing to bet .
I think the team will pull together very soon and if they are not in another month then sure make changes. Keep in mind that in this offseason half the roster will or should be gone and Benning ( Chris Gear ) has had some good contracts negotiations in the last two years.

lol no doubt.
The Bends and OK Computer are stellar Radiohead albums but it's pretty spotty after that IMO. In Rainbows is their best post-OK Computer effort IMO it's an outstanding record front to back. Now spinning in my head...

They're playing the second worst, or possibly the worst, team in the league, not really a good "gauge" game. I know they were only a bubble team last year, the Canucks, but you'd certainly expect them to beat a really really bad team like the Senators. |

That's not true at all, if Benning gets fired its a culmination of six years of work that's now stalled because of cap mismanagement. Aqulini's actually been quite patient with Jim Benning.
Gillis was fired because he wanted to start a rebuild but Aquilni wanted nothing to do with it, he had no clue, Francesco wanted the team to contend even though you could see they were getting long in the tooth....he was being unrealistic. |

Only in Vancouver are they looking to fire the GM that has improved in the standings three years in a row and filled the prospect pool .
