While J is mending, tonight we begin a 2-game set against the Dallas Stars.

As J stated, of the 4 realigned divisions this year, our division is the one that holds not on the SC Champs, BUT BOTH teams that played in the SCF last year. As everyone knows, Dallas has faced a very difficult start to the year by having a short COVID shut-down. Thus far, they are 2-0, with a +8 goal differential.

Detroit sits several players including Fabbri & Zadina due to COVID protocol. Line-ups haven't been released yet, but we know that Detroit will be forced to juggle lines much like we've seen over the past few games. As you know, Chicago took revenge on the Wings for a poor start, and we're kinda hurting.

I know this isn't as insightful as Jeremey would put up, no deep thoughts from my knuckle-headed self......SO:

GERGES SAYS: Dallas wins 6-1 and 4-0.
MCM SAYS: Dallas sweep; 4-1 & 3-2.

I'd REALLY like to see Smith with more ice time, Frans & Fil much less ice time, a more steady presence on the PK (no more Frans on the PK PLEASE), and have Lindstrom start in place of Staal. Need more precise passing, a more coordinated attack in the O zone, and space created for Bernie or Vanilla Greiss to see and capture SOGs. Additionally, more controlled rebounding directed to defenders by our goalies.

FOW has been solid; Glenny is a BEAST at the dot. The Wings lead the Stars in FOW 53.7% - 46.2%. FOW in the D zone for Detroit is crucial, but meaningless if we lose control after the win.

PK is abysmal at 72% v 89% for DAL. PP is an even more open chest wound: 17.7% to 66.7% (again, this is a pretty shabby comparison because the sample for DAL is only 2 games v 6 played for DET).
