Tyler Ennis on waivers. Would he be an upgrade on depth center for Detroit? $1m salary

I'd take Ennis because he could help us now and we could likely flip him for a pick at the trade deadline to a playoff team looking for some cheap 4th line depth. But this would mean benching Nielsen and/or Filppula.

I don't want all 3 in the lineup at the same time. I still want to see Rasmussen and Smith get ice time. My guess is Stevie passes on Ennis because he still has Helm to play the same role.

Hmmm....Frans/Fil v Ennis?!?!?!?! That's a no-brainer for me. BUT, I'm not the GM. Think it would be a great get and he'd definitely give us more power in the lower 2 lines, which is something desperately needed. But, yes, Helm may be the choice.

I think that's a hard NO. Still not seen Lindstrom nor Cholo (
), so no reason to bring in another D-man.....

I’m in the exact same head space. Let Nielsen rotate in and out. Rasmussen has shown promise, but we need some stability

Consensus seems to be yes on Ennis, hard pass on Pateryn. Lindstrom for sure has shown the ability to be steady on a bottom pairing.

Listen, Ras is going to make this a good year. His growth has been incredible. He needs reps, reps, and some more reps, but he's going to finally start being close to what we expected when he was drafted.

Really want to see him get ice time v Staal. Watching yesterday (and previous games....) Staal was simply out-classed. He had some good plays, smart veteran moves, but I think the game has passed him by. Again, HUGE advocate for getting reps for the young kids. Lindstrom needs to play & grow. He's being wasted in the TS.....

Tyler Ennis, YES! we need more depth at center and waive Franz. Fil can slide to the 4th line and has one foot out the door. I think neither Fil or Franz can be traded at the TDL but Ennis should bag at least a 4th

Ok, this is impressive. Pretty much everyone a taker on Ennis. I think it would be a fantastic pickup.

Yup indeedy! The ability to get reps in for the younger kids is essential. What happens when Veleno, Soderbloom, et. al., are able to come to North America? They may need to play in GR, but I'm of the opinion that they'll also get some looks with the Wings, which means that the "vets" would need to take a seat anyway. The thing is, there's NOTHING to lose by sending the vets to the TS, bring in some new faces (ENNIS) and get to a clean slate with more haste. Languishing just because doesn't make sense to the average fan (like me....). By the way we've been shafted in the "Draft" portion of the lottery means we have to make our own way v relying a broken system envisioned to enable crappy teams to re-stock the cupboard, I'd take the lead and push improvement v waiting/relying on vets.....

Yeah. In my diggings I found that a player from a Canadian team may have to re enter quarantine to head to the states. Not sure that would have kept me from picking him up though. A little disappointing

Heck, 14 days would be a drop in the bucket to add a bit more talent to the back 2 lines......Definitely worth the out-put to gain some strength in the C category aside from what we have now. Kinda disappointing.....

It is. At this point, there is no budge in the COVID protocol list either. Another game without Fabbri, Zadina, Gagner, Merrill, Helm and Erne. More than anything, Zadina and Fabbri make a big difference. Unless Namestnikov and Brome have a breakthrough night giving the top line some extra support, not a great outlook

Here's the thing, we're frustrated w/b2b loses, and that's OK. Once Namestnikov & Brome click, and get something in the mesh, I've a feeling that they may well shock the ever-loving shirt outta folks. Both are SO volatile & talented. A little puck-luck & support from the O guys to distract the opponent's D men will create space for them to play a bit more and start twisting the twine. They're good players.

HOWEVER, Fabbri & Zadina being down is a major kick in the junk. Dallas wins the series; 4-1, 3-2. Brome scores his 1st. Staal trips over the blue line twice, Fils coughs up a lung, Frans finds Hanz and they fail to "Pump you up!"

Of all the divisions, we’re in the one with both Stanley Cup teams from last summer. That hurts.

All, I’m so sorry that I haven’t gotten a preview up. I’m not doing well today. Head injuries act up with storms, etc. i will try and have the new blog open for game time back and forth. You guys are the best and I want to get this up for you

I do like your take. And, yes, Zadina could be this season’s MVP if we can get him back
