Dominion Voting Systems has filed a $1.3 billion lawsuit against former President Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani, accusing him of peddling "demonstrably false” allegations that resulted in harassment and death threats for employees.
So Rudy is going to have to dig pretty deep into his pants to find that kind of coin |

Travis Boyd is a replacement level player, no where near a 3rd line C option.
Leafs have plenty of Travis Boyds...the 4th line will be decent for the rest of the year even with injuries.
They don't have much playing room with the top 9 right now. They need a skilled guy that can come in and play up and down the lineup.
Ennis is an option. I mentioned Guadette and Blueger - Santo_44
What Travis Boyd brings is that he's a centre, which gives you some versatility there and his value is that he's already here.
I'm not to argue it too fervently because there's not a lot of difference in here, but Boyd = Gaudette = Blueger. Some are better at some things and some are better at others, but all three are tweeners to some extent. Gaudette is the youngest, I think, so he may have room to develop yet.
If they are looking for something that helps, they're not really getting it by giving up Dermott with the cap space available was the point I was trying to make. Given those constraints, I'd be looking internally. |

You forgot to mention that even with those bounces the refs needed to call the Leafs for a well deserved tripping penalty after Edmonton tripped themselves.

I know you're being glib, but . . .
It would be 4-3 if you include all strengths - but objectively, they are not playing consistently well yet. There are small things to take out of the games. First game against Ottawa and first game against Edmonton they deserved to lose. They were outplayed in both. Second game against Edmonton, especially in the first 10 minutes, they were lucky not to be out of the game out of the gate. Last night Calgary had better chances, and were given more clean lanes to get to the net. We were also fortunate to win yesterday.
The first game against the Habs, the Leafs sort of got their feet later in the game, but the Habs controlled that game pretty thoroughly.
They are capable of being a good team, and they are getting better defensively, and we're seeing the defense look better each game, which is actually impressive for the Leafs. The offense isn't even really clicking yet. Marner is atop the league in scoring, but he's not really on his game. Tavares has been great on the PP, but at 5v5, he's been average. I think it's only really been in the last 2-3 games where we've seen them start to establish an O-Zone presence with the 3rd forward taking position high in the zone to help control the puck movement.

I believe those were a different kind of expected goals.

Chiefs open as 3.5 point favourites over the Bucs.
My guess is that line will move to 5 by game time. |

Matthews has 19 points in 25 playoff games, including 12 goals. He has never really been the problem in the playoffs. - Archaic
Yeah, he's never been a problem. Definitely not as dominant as you would hope but he's certainly been better than Tkachuk. |

yeah.
I also don't get the narrative that they need to trade a Dman. If there is one thing that seems guaranteed it's that NHL teams need plenty of defensive depth over the course of a season. - Aetherial
If trading Dermott brings back a player who can make an impact - whether it's a better RHD or a gritty forward - you make the trade and be damned with the D depth.
We have Lehtonen, Sandin, Liljegren, Rosen, and... Marincin. That's plenty of bottom 6 d-men and I don't think retaining Dermott moves the needle much. |
